Hi everyone. recently i got a new job dancing at a gentlemens club and im worried about what this means for me and my faith. While i cant afford going without the money that this new job brings in i also need to ensure i have a healthy faith and relationship with something more important than the people in this world.

Hi dhg,

Welcome to CC! I see this is your first post, and you also mentioned your worries. I can only say we pray about it, and that God give you a new job where He will be glorified. For a long time, i have set aside my musical gifts, for where in my country was a place you could earn with that-- except in not very 'comfortable' places, someone said?! Why, He did give me work on (church) music research many years ago... but if you love dancing and there's a reason God gifted you with that, He also has a purpose.

Do come and post again in the other forums to meet the others around her.

I just want to say first that I am not judging you. I realize times can be tough and you have to do what you need to get by. You mentioned that you were worried what this new job meant to your faith, my dear if you are dancing at a gentlemens club I think you need to stop and check your faith. Read your bible, find a church with people that can advise and help you. Grow your relationship with GOD not just faith that he is real. Trust him and lean on him. if your life is where GOD wants you I can believe that its not dancing at a club. I pray for someone to come into your life to disciple you and GOD will help you see your future clear. I hope to see you posting here more so others can encourage you. I am praying for you

Hi! Sister Welcome to CC :)

The moment you question if your new job will affect your walk with Christ you already answered your doubt...God has answered you already...Most of the times God speaks to us through the feelings in our heart...you feel not comfortable and came here and asked about it that means He is speaking to you already not to take that work...

Romans 14:13-23

13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died. 16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.[c] 22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves.23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.[d]

I will pray for a new work for you sis...HE is a great provider He will never leave you empty He will provide :)

God bless you sister ❤

Welcome to CC. :) This is the Introductions forum, and your OP fits better into the Family or even Prayer forum.

If you have to dance half naked for money in front of guys and shake your booty, then that's NOT a job that Jesus would want you to do. It wouldn't be long before you start feeling cheap and dirty. Trust GOD to bring you finances that don't involve dancing in front of horny guys who are ogling you and throwing money on the stage..

Hello DHG, welcome to CC. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. Maybe you only think that you can't get by without this money. Sometimes our faith makes us take a step when we can't see what is ahead. Just pray before you take a wrong step.

Never compromise your values, morals, or faith! There are people that can help you. Ministries, support groups, government assistance, to name a few.

I will be honest with you. If you had to voice your concerns here about your job, then you already have your answer from God. That voice inside of you is God. If you have had doubts, that is God showing you His concern. We all have free will, but when you do what God wants you to do, He will bless you and often unexpectedly.

Seek assistance in a church in your area. God doesn't want you to compromise your integrity for money. He loves you and wants only the best for you. You deserve nothing less. You are God's child!

I wish you the very best and may God direct your every step.
