Men cast lots and the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord <---Is this not similar to buying a lottery ticket ;) HAHAH maybe pray for the number and promise to give most away HAHAHAHHAHAHHA

yeah I know....
There is a difference from casting lots with the Lord's involvement and just casting lots. You are asking the Lord so solve your indecision. We should never gamble, period. How does that look to someone hooked on gambling. It will surely cause them to sin. Besides, we are not to look for riches (mammon).

Luke 16:13
"No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." :)o_O:)

People don't understand the nature of addiction and people who have never won anything can't understand how the rush of a win can get them hooked. The chemicals released by the brain cause the rush same as crack and are very addictive. It's not like a light switch, you can't turn it off, your brain simply wouldn't function. The chemicals that feed a crack or gambling addict are inside them but the sudden release of them is as potent as Heroin if not worse because when the smack is removed the reaction wains but the chemicals that transport information within the brain can't stop, the brain wouldn't work.

In short gambling is ill gotten gain and it takes a stubborn determination to stop the cycle once it begins. Help from the lord is best but they can never go back. The delusion they can get away with it becomes an obsession tha often ends in prostitution, robbery and even suicide. Grannies stuff their whole Social Security checks into Vegas machines and don't have the money to drive 300 miles home, Wow, It's like the devil to them. Cunning, baffling and powerful...…….The end.

And yet the Indian reservations are opening new casinos left and right. They can't seem to build them fast enough. This creates a whole new generation of people addicted to gambling. It breaks my heart. That is one vice I never got hooked on. I guess I am too cheap, or maybe because I worked too hard for my money to throw it away.

Good for you. Question: What happens when a Casino goes out of business? Answer: They build a bigger one. Question: Where does that money come from? Answer: Losers!

Turns out one person in South Carolina won the whole pot. Bless their soul and let them do good things with the money.
Turns out South Carolina is the other of 8 states in total that do not release lottery winners names. That's a policy that should be across the board for security reasons in all states.
They'll get over 900 million once taxes are taken out. That's a huge bite but it is a heck of a lot more than they had when they bought that ticket.
900+ million. They have 6 months to claim the money. Heck, it would take me two days to get off the floor from the shock if I had won. Just call me, throw rug! A very very happy throw rug. Mind the smile when you pass.

I thought gambling was of the devil.

At least, that was what my parents believed and they never let me do the lottery growing up.
I heard that too growing up. I think it generates back to the Roman soldiers playing dice to obtain Christ's rob as he died above them on the cross. I don't recall a scripture that expressly forbids gambling.
Just like there are people who won't drink because they think it is forbidden in scripture. It isn't. Excess intake is forbidden. Otherwise, Christ made a major booboo when he turned that water into wine at the wedding in Cana.

I would retire from the Post Office of course, share that money with others (while I was changing my name and going into hiding for a while). Would also do plenty of traveling once I came out of hiding. :giggle:

I would buy a planet or set of stars that are connected and name that my family. But first a planet.
