Merida, you’ve been here all of 3 days and you are telling everyone how to behave, and obey your rules?? Even the mods don’t get to do that!

My suggestion is to get to know people a bit before you become a fire breathing dragon. Sometimes it seems like someone is insulting someone else, when they are in fact friends, but disagree on one or two things. I tell people off, on occasion. You may have even seen it on this thread. But those people are my long time friends. We are just passionate about what we believe.

So, before you keep on calling everyone out, sit back, watch the dynamics, remember we are all adults, and have know some of the people here for years, even off the forum. And if something really bothers you, send a message to the person, privately. If that doesn’t work out talk to the mods.

Because the only person I have really seen putting another person down in this thread, is you, Merida.

Oh! Welcome to CC, and sorry for your loss!
That was me not her.

Oh, you were offended alright, and still are.

Your name calling is quite unChristian, and frankly old. Two posts of yours now have accomplished this. I never saw any of the pejoratives in any of the discussions you were offended about. This all happened once you chimed in and it all stemmed from you. That's what is sad.

Can't handle theological debate, and have to refer to others as foolish with other pejoratives? Well you're too easily offended and should steer clear.
Telling a person that they are doing a thing that they are in fact doing is not an insult.
Debating over the which Bible is superior or that some English version is the only Bible is flesh.

I like that kind of talk, for a lot of people already say the Christians are hypocrites because of their wrongful behavior, and do we want people to be saved or not, for the world examines how we act, and they say, hold on Jesus is love, so why don't you Christians act the same.

We should respond the way God wants us to respond, and leave the flesh out of it.
Agreed, rushing in to extend pejoratives and call others names is out of bounds.

So, nobody is using the BLB? No opinions?

What's the BLB? Sounds like the beelzebub bible.
Berean Literal Bible, the translation I use almost every time I decide between paralel translations... So I am surprised nobody uses it. Seems to me to be better than NIV, NASB, ESV etc.

I never noticed that was the default version there. It is in print in the NT.

In what example from what you have seen makes it better than the other versions?

Interesting, no I have never used it. I used to read Young's literal translation. But I'll have to check out the Berean literal Bible. I like a lot of Bible I have lots of them. My go-to is usually The New American Standard. Right now I am reading commentary practical and explanatory on the whole Bible by, Reverend Robert Jamison, Reverend AR Fausset, and rv, David Brown.

I do not have any concrete example in my memory right now, but generally its very literal but still making sense in English. I frequently check in Greek and many times I am somewhat unsatisfied with other translations, BLB is often the best one in this.

No disrespect my friend, but Jesus did not exactly act sweet all the time. He told the chief elders they were the Devil’s children, looked at them with disdain right beforing healing the man with the crippled arm(Mark 3:5), made a whip and ran people out of the temple and turned over a bunch of tables.

I am not saying we need to be rude to people, but sometimes sweet responses do not get the point across to others.

Can we argue the merits of King James only in a different thread than one where a new believer asks for edition advice? This was likely a place for everyone to just say their preferred translation or edition how ever you want to phrase it and move on.

I agree. I gave her my opinion, the King James Bible only gave theirs and they insulted the versions we love to read. Then the melee began.
