36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Loving the Lord thy God with all thy heart entails accepting the Gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and getting saved so that you can truly profess that God is your father (prior to that everyone's father is Satan, the father of lies).

Loving your neighbour as thyself, if you are saved, entails wanting him to be saved also and then witnessing to him about the mighty power of Christ to save their souls from a burning hell through His shed Blood.

So, the first command is salvation.
the second command is to be a witness.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

Creation testifies there is a God that created all things, and of His attributes, which one of them is love, for He provided food, and the means to make clothing, and shelter, so the world is without excuse, and covers the 2 greatest laws, love God, and love people, which is the universal law that covers the whole history of mankind for Jews and Gentiles.

So the world that did not hear the word of God will be judged by their reaction to creation, and their conscience at the great white throne judgment, in which some can be saved if they believed in a God, and loved people, and if anything was amiss asked for forgiveness.

Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Love is the fulfilling of the law, and charity, love in action, is greater than faith, and faith works by love.

No love, no faith, then you are not in a position of salvation, for love is the greatest asset a person can have, and out of faith, hope, and charity, charity is the greatest, for love is the only thing the saints did on earth that shall continue on for eternity, for faith, and hope, are not needed in heaven, for the saints are there.

1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain(money, material) is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth(charity, love in action).

The definition of love is love is not unkind, is not arrogant, is not selfish, does not behave wrongly, does not think an evil thought, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth to hate sin, and not want sin, led by the Spirit, and only goes by their needs, and not their wants, and helps the poor and needy if they can.

God created the earth for people to love each other, and that includes helping people with their needs, for if you say you love someone, but have the means to help them with their needs, and you do not do it, then how does the love of God dwell in you.

For the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, which is what it is all about loving people.

If you do not measure up to love then your faith does not apply towards your salvation, for creation testifies of the 2 greatest laws, love God, and love people, without hearing the word of God., and how much more should a person claiming Christ understand love if the world does not have an excuse for not understanding love.

Love is greater than faith, but we see many who claim Christ lack in love, and then say they are saved, and this mostly in loving money, and material things, for their wants.

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

The last Church age where many who claim Christ will be in to loving money, and material things, for their wants, and it is at a time where money, and material things, are flowing like a raging river due to technology.

Which we know the prosperity Gospel is popular among many people.

Pro 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Pro 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

The last generation before Jesus comes back to end this sin business on earth, that they will devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men, which they will be obsessed with heaping money, and material things to the themselves, all in an attempt to exalt themselves, and neglect the poor and needy.

Which we see this big time in today's world where millions and billions of dollars is not enough for them, and the majority of the people running around trying to get all they can.

That is why Jesus said since iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold, for it is selfish, and arrogant, and people will not like each other that much in a society like that.

And nowhere in the history of mankind could this happen but only with the advancement of technology that is going on today, and with the money, and material things, flowing like a raging river, it caters to the selfishness, and arrogance of people, and they try to heap those things to themselves.

Then after years when it gets worse people say people basically care about themselves with little regard for anybody else, so you do not care about me, then I do not care about you.

And then the attitude is get all you can and forget everyone else, and trust no one.

So the business person, or anybody else, will bleed you dry of your money, and leave you out on the street, because they figure you do not care about them, and are doing the same thing.

We are at the last generation, and this generation will devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men, and many who claim Christ are participating in it, all the while thinking they are saved.

If you do not measure up to love you cannot be saved, but you have people that claim Christ that go by their wants on a daily basis, and think they are saved.

And some people that say they cannot abstain from sins, and sin does not affect their relationship with God, which they testify out of their own mouth that they sin, and hold unto sin, for they say they cannot cease from sins.

But the Bible says love does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, which if a person sins they enjoyed that sin, for if they did not enjoy that sin they would not do it, so if they say they cannot abstain from sins they enjoyed that sin.

So they do not measure up to love, and then say they are chosen and can never fall, which does not make sense.

Which it gets ridiculous the relaxed attitude many have concerning love, and the truth, and then act like their wrongful behavior is alright and they are still saved.

But it is not love, and love is greater than faith, which they say faith alone, but love is greater than faith.

That is truly a great commandment. In practical terms it means Jews should loved the Palestinians and the Palestinians should love the Jews. Equally for Muslims.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone followed Jesus in all things.

Kinda ironic Deuteronomy 6:1 begins with " Now these are the commandments, ..." since faith comes by hearing.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: Deut 6:4

I guess if he spotted us a commandment then the other nine of the ten commandments would be obvious since you can't add to or take away from these 10.

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deut 6:5

After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:33

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: Deut 6:5

All the law and the prophet must hang oN love.

It mean all the preaching and rule in the church must base oN love to God and to people

In now days some preaching is base oN love of money.
