Looks to be what are known as Ponderosa pine trees. They're known for being resistant to fire. There are a number of trees like this.

We are surrounded by Pinderisa Pines. In 2003, those pines caught on fire and most of the homes, and the pines burned to the ground in our neighbourhood. A hot fire will burn any tree down.

This whole event.......the two fires.....is so very sad. And I know it is only one such tragedy taking place in the world today, but it is the one we are most aware of.

God bless and keep the survivors......I fear many, many more will be lost
