From The Hands Of The Wicked,
That is the plea of the psalmist in Psalms. So we
need to trust in the Lord that He will watch over us
and we can feel safe and comforted. It is not easy
for us to allow anyone but ourselves to be in charge
of our life. Even if we just hold on to a single thread
we want that little bit of self control. Yet while God
doesn't demand our complete concession to Him,
He does illustrate that if we don't, because of our lack
of faith, we will falter. So we come to the Lord and in
supplication and surrender to Him. We need to let
ourselves go like a child who is completely dependent
on their parents. So we must be with our Divine Father.
The question becomes; are we able to do it. Can we
let go of that final thread we cling to; do we have that
ultimate trust in God.
