Hello, all!

I’ve chosen the name “questing” because I feel like it fits. I am a Christian turned atheist turned anti-theist turned (hopefully) Christian, again. For that reason, I view my relationship with Christianity as a quest. For more info on that, please see my post in the Young Adults forum titled “Opening my heart (and mind)...”

I am 23 years old, female and from New England. I hope that this community will help me in my quest to finding the Lord once again. I recently opened my mind to His love again and I’ve seen positive changes in my life as a result. I am empowered to return to religion!

Have a lovely Sunday. 💞

Quest

Biblically, a person's relationship with God is not a quest;
it is not a process, but rather a precisely defined state of being.

You have either given your life to Christ, completely, and unreservedly, at which time God changes you in permanent ways...
or you have not.

You are either INSIDE of God's family, and you are his child, or you are OUTSIDE of God's family, and you are not his child.

The state of "being a Christian" does not denote a process of becoming; it is a precise state of being.

However, if you're here because you have questions and concerns, and you're trying to learn, then I'm sure people here will be happy to help you.

Welcome to CC.

Sorry, I feel as though I’ve offended you. Maybe I made a mistake stumbling upon this community. I apologize if I struck a nerve or anything. Thanks for the reply anyway. Have a nice night.

Sorry, I feel as though I’ve offended you. Maybe I made a mistake stumbling upon this community. It’s true that I probably don’t much belong here, as your response suggests. I suppose I ought to stay true to myself in spite of recent questions. Without intending to do so, you’ve answered my unsung question it seems. For that, I thank you.

I apologize if I struck a nerve or anything. Thanks for the reply anyway. Have a nice night.

Hi Questing
God tells us to ask , seek , and knock. How can we learn or come to a knowledge of truth unless we are looking for answers?

Welcome, and I hope your quest is successful and rewarding to you!

Maxwel,
that is very harsh and not in the spirit of Christ! wasnt there a time you were not a Christian? Maybe you were born that way? I doubt it. There is a time to seek ,time of conversion to every christians life. Give others a chance to seek God and not discourage their quest!

From the opening post, it is clear she has no idea what it means to be a Christian, no idea at all.
So I was trying to clarify a particular part of that concept that she clearly misunderstood.

I thinks it's perfectly reasonable to explain things to someone who is entirely confused.

1. I identified a particular part of the concept of Christianity that she didn't understand.
2. I then explained that part she didn't understand.
3. Then I told her she would probably find plenty of people here to answer questions and help her.
4. Then I welcomed her to CC.

When someone is stumbling around in the dark, I think we should turn on some light.

If you prefer to leave someone stumbling around in the dark... then I suppose we have different approaches.

Questing,

I'm sorry if the intent of my post was unclear.

I'm not offended, and the only nerve you struck was one of concern.
I'm concerned that whatever churches you've been through have left you with such a confused understanding of Christianity.

There are some very Godly women here who know the Bible very well.
You should seek them out.... they'll be happy to talk to you.

Greetings questing welcome... Great handle BTW... I think you will like it here in the cc...
Lots of amazingly honest, and gracious, sometimes outspoken and opinionated - but always loving, caring and giving of advice for those who are seeking prayer, friendship, support or just a break from their daily routine...
I have a 23 year old son who is going thru a similar phase...
God Bless
