Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
(NOTE: A day begins with evening 6pm til 6am. Then morning 6am til 6pm. 1 day 24 hrs)

Lev 23:32, the Lord said, "From even unto even shall ye celebrate your Sabbath."

Sabbath days begins at sundown (6pm) Fri & end at sunset 6pm on Sat. A 12 hr evening & a 12 hr morning = 1 day.

So, the 1st day of the week (we call Sunday) begins at sundown (6pm) Sat and ends at sunset 6pm on Sun.

Matt 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
(NOTE: The Son of man shall spend 3 days & 3 nights "IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH")

On Nisan 10 a Passover Lamb is chosen (Ex 12).
It was on Nisan 10 (Palm Sunday, remember this day begins at sundown on Sat evening) That Jesus the Christ (God's chosen Lamb) entered the city gates. Jesus was inspected for blemishes by the pharisees the sadducees (Mk 12:) And proved to be faultless/without blemish. The lamb is inspected for any blemish until Nisan 14.

It's Nisan 14 when the actual passover sacrifice is made (Lev 23:5).

1 Cor 5:7 (B) For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Approximate Nisan 14 timeline:
Nisan 14 begins on Wed at sundown 6pm. Jesus eats his last supper with his 12 chosen (6-9pm). They go the Garden of Gethsemane & Jesus prays (9pm -midnight) He is arrested (midnight) the Priests accuse, abuse & condemn Him (midnight-6am).

It's now (Thurs) morning still Nisan 14. He's taken Pontius Pilate. Jesus is questioned, beaten, mocked, scourged & sentenced to death (6am til 8am).

Jesus is forced to carry His Cross through the streets. He's nailed to the cross 9am (Mk 15:25) and suffers in agony for 6 hours. At 3pm Christ proclaims; It is Finished, and dies (Matt 27:46) All on Nisan 14.

Temple tradition. At early lite on Nisan 14 the sinless chosen lamb was marched up the ramp into the Temple.

Early am on Nisan 14 God's sinless Lamb/Christ was carring his cross, marching up the hill to Calvary.

At 9am on Nisan 14 the Temple Priest tied the lamb to a stake to be sacrificed. And the shofar (rams horn/trump) is blown. So all the people knew the lamb is prepared to be sacrificed.

At 9am on Nisan 14 Jesus the Lamb of God is tied and nailed to the cross. (Mk 15:25 it was the 3rd hour & they crucified him.

At 3pm on Nisan 14 the Temple Priest brings a sharp knife and kills the sinless lamb. The shofar (rams horn/trump) is blown. So, all the people know the lamb as been sacrificed.

At 3pm on Nisan 14 Jesus Christ hears the Temple trump and in a loud voice. Proclaims: IT IS FINISHED! (MARK 15:25-37) and dies.

At 3pm a great earthquake happens. Jesus passes through the Temple Veil it's torn in 1/2. (Matt 27:51) Old covenant levitical priesthood sacrifical system ends.

Christ's crucifixion:
Nisan 14 begins Wed evening at 6 pm

Thur morning at 3pm Nisan 14 Jesus dies & enters the HEART OF THE EARTH. 3pm til 6pm = 1 day

Thurs evening & Fri morning = 1 evening & 1 morning = 1 day.

Fri evening & Sat morning (Sabbath) = 1 evening & 1 morning = 1 day.

He rises sometime after 6pm on Sat evening (now the 1st day of the week, our Sunday) = 1 evening. That's 3 days & 3 nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH

Did Jesus Really Descend into Hell?
April 14, 2017

Did Jesus Really Descend into Hell?[/URL]

It is sometimes argued that Christ descended into hell after he died.
The widely used Apostles’ Creed reads, “was crucified, dead, and buried, he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead.”
But the phrase “he descended into hell” does not occur in the Bible.
Where did the phrase come from?
A murky background lies behind much of the history of the phrase itself. Its origins, where they can be found, are far from praiseworthy.
It is surprising to find that the phrase “he descended into hell” was not found in any of the early versions of the Creed (in the versions used in Rome, in the rest of Italy, and in Africa) until it appeared in one of two versions from Rufinus in A.D. 390.
Then it was not included again in any version of the Creed until A.D. 650.
Moreover, Rufinus, the only person who included it before A.D. 650, did not think that it meant that Christ descended into hell, but understood the phrase simply to mean that Christ was “buried.” In other words, he took it to mean that Christ “descended into the grave.” (The Greek form has hadēs, which can mean just “grave,” not geenna, “hell, place of punishment.”).
We should also note that the phrase only appears in one of the two versions of the Creed that we have from Rufinus: it was not in the Roman form of the Creed that he preserved.
This means, therefore, that until A.D. 650 no version of the Creed included this phrase with the intention of saying that Christ “descended into hell”—and the only version to include the phrase before A.D. 650 gives it a different meaning.
Later when the phrase was incorporated into different versions of the Creed that already had the phrase “and buried,” some other explanation had to be given to it.
There have been three possible meanings proposed throughout church history:
  1. Some take this phrase to mean that Christ suffered the pains of hell while on the cross. Calvin takes this approach, as does the Heidelberg Catechism.
  2. Others have understood it to mean that Christ continued in the “state of death” until his resurrection. The Westminster Larger Catechism, Question 50 takes this approach: “Christ’s humiliation after his death consisted in his being buried, and continuing in the state of the dead, and under the power of death till the third day; which hath been otherwise expressed in these words, He descended into hell.”
  3. Finally, some have argued that the phrase means just what it appears to mean on first reading: that Christ actually did descend into hell after his death on the cross.

Close but i believe you are wrong.. The Passover day started on sundown Tuesday.. and ended on sundown Wednesday.. Jesus had his Passover meal at the correct Biblical time.. The Jews by this time and still today have their Passover meal a day late..

So Jesus was executed on Wednesday and was placed in the tomb just before sunset Wednesday..

Lets go thought the 3 nights and 3 days Jesus was in the tomb::

Ist day Wednesday 6PM to Thursday 6PM this is the Biblical 5th Day and the High Sabbath of Unleavened bread..
2nd day Thursday 6PM to Friday 6PM this is the Biblical 6th Day
3rd day Friday 6PM to Saturday 6PM .. This is the Biblical 7th Day weekly Sabbath..

Jesus is raised from the dead for the start of the first day of the week which started at 6PM Saturday..

Note Jesus was placed in the tomb before the sun set on Wednesday..
