All scripture was written for us. Not all scripture is written to us.
When dissecting any verse of scripture. Ask yourself, of whom, to whom, with what words, what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what is written before and what follows any single verse context.

So, ask: Who is writing? Who’s it written to? What are the circumstances? What’s the context before? What's the context after? .
Although, God doesn't change (Heb 13:8). He does change the way He deals with mankind. Noah, Abraham, the pre-resurrection Nation Israel & the post-resurrection Body of Christ/Church
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
(NOTE: The dividing line is Christ's resurrection. Also see Heb 9:16-18)
So, never confuse the pre-resurrection Nation of Israel teaching/doctrines, with the post-resurrection Body of Christ/Churches.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
(NOTE: ALL scripture is written for our LEARNING. ALL scripture isn't written for our DOCTRINE)
For the most part when God is speaking to the post-resurrection Church Age believer. It's taught through the Apostle Paul's writings. Many things that were applicable to pre-resurrection Nation Israel. Aren't applicable to today's post-resurrection Body of Christ/Church.
Romans 10:4 Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
(NOTE: Post-resurrection believers obtain righteousness thru faith, now thru law keeping).
Romans 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
(NOTE: Pre-law our sins wasn't imputed. Post resurrection a believers sins are imputed onto Christ. See Gal 3:16, Rom 4:6,8,11,22,23,24 )
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Gal 5:18 if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(NOTE: It's not our law keeping/works. It's by the faith ""OF CHRIST"". When we trust Christ we become justified = Declared Righteous before God. Thru our faith, in the faith ""OF CHRIST"" His finished sin atoning work. Not thru our own works)
Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
(NOTE: The just = those declared righteous by God. Shall live by HIS FAITH)
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
(NOTE: From Faith to Faith. It's Christ's sinless Faithful payment/work & our Faith place in it)
