He Must Deny Himself,

That means that once and for all we need to bury
our ego somewhere, lose it completely and give
all our attention to Jesus. If we are to grow in Him,
if we are to live in Him, we must follow Him with all
of ourselves. As I see the world, the Christian world,
too often I see an intellectualizing of Christ. I mean
by that we study the words, we become all knowing
of the word and make the word our God. So rather
than making the word the essential of our inner and
deep daily life just as Jesus did, the majority tend to
grasp knowledge over action. It's a lot easier to be
knowledgeable than it is to put our faith in action. So
many if not most take the easy road. In this, Jesus
rebuked Peter by telling him that anyone who saves
His life will lose it. Who ever loses His life for me will
find it. So Jesus spoke to them with very harsh terms.
So what is our choice. It seems He is saying, it is me
or nothing.

Thank you, Dusty

This came to my mind after reading your post

Psalm 115: 1. Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name let glory be given, because of your mercy and your unchanging faith.
