We have talked about separation of soul and spirit some as of late. Paul, who shows us salvation of the spirit is complete by Christ in you, also separated soul and spirit, Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God separates and divides soul and spirit. Christians failure to separate soul and spirit explains why so many never enjoy Christianity.
In spirit I stand perfect before God, in soul--my mind, will, and emotions--I'm not perfect.
I will always be learning in my soul. There is so much more to to learn about this love affair with Jesus who is in us.
When Paul separated soul and spirit, he was able to concentrate on the mind because it is one thing to have Christ in you, and another to know it.
In soul you are always in the process of being saved. Not in the aspective of heaven, that is spirit.
But being delivered in mind. Think about where you started and where you are now, it's day and night, you cannot compare the two.
That is soul growth--mind renewal, deliverance. Keep in mind that spirit salvation came the moment you believed, the cross provided your deliverance.
Just because you don't know something doesn't make it so. It is still fact even if you don't know yet, the mind will catch up to the facts in time.
You must remember that body will not be saved until the resurrection morning, 2 Cor. 1:9-10, explains the three phases of salvation.
Paul introduces us to what happens when we are born again.
The goal of true Christianity is to release the Christ in you so the body and soul, which we call human self, can be overwhelmed and expressed by spirit.
Only Christians who have had a revelation that Christ is their life have an opportunity to become who God created them to be.
It is not enough to just be saved.
If you are saved, you are going to heaven regardless of what you know.
However, to know who you are in this human form is a great understanding and completely changes your life on earth.
God created you to be something special for Him.
Christians who don't know the Christ who is in them will never come to that understanding.

I think this is a very good concept to discuss and gain better understanding in, I myself have pondered about this and sadly I am lacking in my own understanding of the matter. My own thoughts on this have made me consider what the difference is between the soul of a person and the spirit of a person as well as the ever changing of ones soul and the difference betwen human spirit and the holy spirit. I have always had the idea that the soul of a person is like the true essence of themselves, like it's who they really and truly are inside not just because it's their core but also because of who they truly are in him. For instance it began a few years ago when I would look at myself in the mirror and not recognize the face I am staring at, I have always hated my appearance and based on that the mirror made me see and think of all my flaws yet the closer I got to him the less and less I recognized what I saw in me.

It just felt like a lie to me and that for some reason who really am in him and what he really sees in my was the soul he raised from death and into life and it was the complete opposite of my own thinking of my self. For me the soul is more than idea or a way to describe a person and maybe I am wrong in my thinking but I can't help but feel that when we come to him our soul is reborn into a perfect and royal child who only shows beauty in his eyes and is the pride of his heart, yet I wonder if this is true how many of us really see this in ourselves and actually believe it?

On the other hand the soul also seems to be ever changing and ever growing as we grow and mature and learn from experience pain sadness joy and all that both this life and his kingdom have to offer, and yet even in that ever changing it is a wonder to even begin to imagine that in his eyes we are absolutely perfect and beautiful because he isn't looking at the physical he is looking at the spiritual. I sadly have always had a horrible self worth and always see the worst in myself yet I also think that it was only because of this that I began to ponder the soul and spirit.

And then you have the spirit or even just the idea or word of it, the word spirit is used in many ways. One thing I have always said about the human spirit is that though we are flawed and make the same dumb mistakes over and over and over again as history shows quite well we never truly give up. Humans have a capacity unlike any other creature even demons and angels who were both born perfect, it's in times of tragedy and in times of absolute grit and terror that brings about this fire to stand against adversity, to keep fighting and to keep crawling even if it seems pointless.

But the word spirit could also be used to describe something like a trait or a feeling and even an entity, the holy spirit is of course an obvious one but there have been mentioned of the spirit of confusion or lust not as an actual entity but rather a feeling or sin. And whats more is that people talk of demonic possessions and Jesus was no stranger to these things, they seemed to be spirits that like the holy spirit does housed inside of a person but there seems to only be room for a single spirit in a person as I have never heard of a person with the holy spirit being possessed.
