For They Shall Inherit The Earth,

At first glance it would be easy to say that it sounds
silly that the meek would have such power. We are
aware the world is full of wolves and those who are
bent on taking advantage of us. But I believe that
by being humble and surrendering to the things of
God, in the end will make the world powerful. It's
hard to see of course but if we really think about the
Gospels and the rest of scriptures, everything there
is leading us to peace and harmony. So if even one
person can be meek and inspire another and then
another and so on, think of how the world would be.
Of course this is a pie in the sky imagination but in
a way, I believe that is Jesus was aiming for. At
this point that ideal is unimaginable. But maybe
after all the wars are done, that's the way it will be.

Yes. It is also important to realize that meek does not mean weak. Great strength is required to achieve Christian meekness in my opinion.

God bless

yes
to me, it's implicit in meekness that one could take some action or say something, but forbears. it doesn't mean 'powerless' or 'without authority' but in acquiescence, refusing to exercise power or right. if i were to lose a prize to another competitor because i was incapable of winning it for myself, that's not meekness - but if i let them seize it, even though i was fully capable of preventing them, i'm showing meekness. if i share my food with someone who is hungry; i could have eaten it. but if someone steals my bread against my will - i haven't been meek; i've been robbed
