Renew A Steadfast Spirit Within Me,

Throughout scripture, it seems that God is doing all He
can to change us from an earthly way of life to a life
deep in the Spirit. Whether in the O/T or the N/T it is a
constant theme that it's a duality that cannot exist within
a human spiritual life. We most positively need to move
from the darkness into the light. Our tendencies seem to
keep pulling us back into a more sinful way of life. So it
is our obligation to insist and to hold on to our life in the
Holy Spirit. In that way we continue to grow in our faith
and our love and our spirituality. Over time, that duality
fades away and we keep our focus totally in God. His face
shines radiantly in our lives and we have that deep close
relationship with Him. We need to fall fearlessly into love,
His love. In that way, our doubts begin to fall like leaves
in the Autumn our deep connection begins. Are we going
to be perfect, no, but we will be coming closer and closer.

I agree, Dusty. If we have the spirit of God/Christ, the rest will take care of itself. (Not saying the Christian life will be easy). Sometimes it is difficult to maintain our focus on what he wants us to do, especially in this busy world. However, that is our job as God's children and he expects us to do what he says.

As long as we are on earth, our flesh will war against our Spirit. When we learn to die daily to self and grow in Spiritual things, ie the fruit of the Spirit, like said we will become closer and closer to God, as many Biblical figures were. I wonder if anyone is on a one to one basis w/God as Moses was, if not, why not? Makes me wonder. God bless.
