The books that go into the New testament are considered to be authentic scripture and in accordance with the Truth according to Christians.
However, there are other scriptures, letters, gospels etc. Some of these are considered false.

My question is, are the scriptures in the Bible the only ones considered authentic and therefore the Bible is the sum total of authentic scripture, or, are there some scriptures that were left out of the Bible, but are nevertheless considered authentic and worthy of study?

Well this is a good question. Personally I have never read scriptures that were not already in the bible but God has used the scriptures to speak to us and I have personally seen the power that flows in those pages so perhaps if I could read these other scriptures I would have a better understanding in regards to if they belong in it or not.

Studying the books of the Apocryphal (books not included in our Bible) is a most interesting subject. It is said (by whom I do not know) that there are seven books of the "Protestant Apocryphal". These are also considered to be "Canonical Books of the Old Testament".

There are also other books which were not included in this list due to various reasons. These decisions which books would or would not be included were made back in the 16th century during the time of the Martin Luther, the Moravians and others and by the Catholic Church even earlier. Are some of the Apocryphal books authentic?

There now is increasingly more interest about these books. Interesting subject! Look on the internet for more information.......and update us!
