From the Beeb:

A committee of the US House of Representatives is seeking documents alleging obstruction of justice, corruption and abuse of power by President Donald Trump and his aides.

Judiciary committee chairman Jerrold Nadler told ABC news that 60 individuals and entities would be receiving subpoenas from Monday.

Mr Nadler said he believed Mr Trump had obstructed justice.

But any impeachment move would depend on the results of the inquiry.

President Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing and accused Democrats of a witch hunt.

On Saturday, he launched a furious attack on Special Counsel Robert Mueller, railing against the inquiry he is leading into alleged collusion between his campaign and Russia.

Mr Mueller is expected to hand in his report to the attorney general shortly.

Targeting Mr Mueller repeatedly - as well as firing the former FBI chief over the Russia inquiry - were among the issues Mr Nadler cited as "clear" cases of obstruction of justice by President Trump.

This is just another attempt to mount an ILLEGAL COUP against Trump. More Left Liberal nonsense to prevent Trump from doing his job while creating anarchy and turmoil.

So what he should be doing is turning the tables on all these rascals and having them investigated and prosecuted. Which means cleaning out the filthy stables at the FBI and DOJ and getting some people with integrity to run those departments and put things in order.

Had Mr. Trump gone on the offensive rather than allowed the phony Mueller Witch Hunt to go on and on, you would not have been hearing any such nonsense. Obama, Hillary, Lynch, Holder, Clapper, Brennan, Comey, Rosenstein, Wray, Mueller, and that whole gang of criminals should have been behind bars already. And Sessions should have been fired the day he recused himself. A real traitor if ever there was one.

Former British spy Christopher Steele admitted that he relied on an unverified report on a CNN website for part of the "Trump dossier," which was used as a basis for the FBI's investigation into Trump.

According to deposition transcripts released this week, Steele said last year he used a 2009 report he found on CNN's iReport website and said he wasn't aware that submissions to that site are posted by members of the public and are not checked for accuracy.

...

Steele said his dossier contained "raw intelligence" that he admitted could contain untrue or even "deliberately false information."

Steele was hired by the opposition research firm Fusion GPS to investigate then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016. Fusion GPS was receiving funding at the time from the Clinton campaign and the DNC through the Perkins Coie law firm.

The series of memos that Steele would eventually compile became known as the “Trump Dossier.” The dossier was used in FISA applications to surveil Trump campaign associate Carter Page.

When asked whether he warned Fusion GPS that the information in the dossier might be “Russian disinformation,” Steele admitted that “a general understanding existed between us and Fusion … that all material contained this risk.”

Just before Thanksgiving, House Republicans amended the list of documents they’d like President Trump to declassify in the Russia investigation. With little fanfare or explanation, the lawmakers, led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), added a string of emails between the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to their wish list.

Sources tell me the targeted documents may provide the most damning evidence to date of potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), evidence that has been kept from the majority of members of Congress for more than two years.

The email exchanges included then-FBI Director James Comey, key FBI investigators in the Russia probe and lawyers in the DOJ’s national security division, and they occurred in early to mid-October, before the FBI successfully secured a FISA warrant to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The email exchanges show the FBI was aware — before it secured the now-infamous warrant — that there were intelligence community concerns about the reliability of the main evidence used to support it: the Christopher Steele dossier.

The exchanges also indicate FBI officials were aware that Steele, the former MI6 British intelligence operative then working as a confidential human source for the bureau, had contacts with the news media reporters before the FISA warrant was secured.

The FBI fired Steele on Nov. 1, 2016 — two weeks after securing the warrant — on the grounds that he had unauthorized contacts with the news media.

But the FBI withheld from the American public and Congress, until months later, that Steele had been paid to find his dirt on Trump by a firm doing political opposition research for the Democratic Party and for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and that Steele himself harbored hatred for Trump.

If the FBI knew of his media contacts and the concerns about the reliability of his dossier before seeking the warrant, it would constitute a serious breach of FISA regulations and the trust that the FISA court places in the FBI.

That’s because the FBI has an obligation to certify to the court before it approves FISA warrants that its evidence is verified, and to alert the judges to any flaws in its evidence or information that suggest the target might be innocent.

apparently, McCain gave the dossier to Comey and said he would have done it again

well of course

two wrongs always make a right..only McCain appears to have been a left

no respect intended

the word 'coup' is finally being used because that is what it was and continues to be

in other news, muslims in the house are all hot under the collar about the slaughter in New Zealand and think it is ok to talk murder about Jews

anybody else think this is the real news?

120 Nigerian Christians killed by MUSLIMS since February of this year

The organization reported 52 people were killed and 100 homes were destroyed last Monday in the latest attacks on Inkirimi and Dogonnoma villages in Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA). The victims included women and children.

this is what Christians should take note of and discuss

not the liberal abuse of freedom of speech

From the Beeb:

It's been 22 months since former FBI Director Robert Mueller was appointed to head a special investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election "and related matters".

Now, according to multiple media reports, the end is drawing near.

But what does that mean? Time Magazine senior editor Ryan Teague Beckwith has described trying to keep up with the twists in the Mueller investigation as akin to understanding the plot of a Russian novel by listening to a book club conversation.

Now, at last, perhaps we will see the full manuscript. Or at least the CliffsNotes (that's York Notes to you Brits).

Or maybe we won't.

If it all seems confusing, that's because no-one knows exactly what happens next - just that something may be about to happen soon.

According to multiple news reports, Mr Mueller's investigation could be completed within days. Several times we've been told it could come as soon as "tomorrow".

Is that soon enough for you?

Just because the Mueller investigation is drawing to a close, however, doesn't mean we'll know all the details immediately - or ever.

The notoriously tight-lipped former FBI director could simply announce that his work is done, pack his bags and go back to a private life of golf clubs, corporate boards, academic speaking engagements and trips to the Apple store Genius Bar.

From the deposition of Steele:

He was pressed on this further: “Do you understand that CNN iReports are or were nothing more than any random individuals’ assertions on the Internet?” Steele replied: “No, I obviously presume that if it is on a CNN site that it may has some kind of CNN status.

The same CNN which misstated Gov. Ralph Northam was (R). :sneaky:

Many of them ARE currently under investigation.

Many of them are under various types of investigation, two of them are already under a grand jury investigation, and last week Senator Graham called for a new special council to officially investigate Clinton... who has been quietly under re-investigation for the last couple of months.

Trump could not have done anything sooner than this... federal judges threatened to charge him with obstruction of justice if he interfered in the Mueller investigation in any way.

Everything I mentioned above is public record... but you may have to check multiple news sources to piece it all together.

I think most politicians are crooked. Both Republicans and Democrats. The only way to balance out their politics is giving them both two consecutive terms (or even better; one) and then swap.

Steele got it wrong not the ireport which is for regular folk to submit articles.

As for the CNN report on Ralphy the error was corrected a few seconds later:

Of course those that watch CNN would have known that Ralphy was a Dem - no GOP supporter was harmed in the making of that clip as they don't watch CNN - only the right wing nuts such as Alex Jones do so they can pounce on any errors and claim fake nooze.

That is exactly what should be done to prevent these career politicians from becoming embedded in the mud.

excuse me? a few seconds later? cnn ran northam's apology February 1, 2019 ... cooper apologized February 2, 2019 at 4:37 am.

While Fox News reported that Cooper’s initial tweet of the segment included the error “without acknowledgement,” the CNN host has since removed the tweet and posted a correction on Saturday morning that included the correct chyron.
“A previous tweet had a video misidentifying Gov. Northam’s party affiliation, it has been removed and the video has been corrected,” Cooper wrote.

of course, none of the target audience of cnn (according to you, that would be dems) fact checked to see whether northam was d or r. they just consider cnn the end all to be all like christopher steele while insinuating all fake news is comes from FOX.
