"God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. " - (Genesis 1:5)
I used to think it was a bit strange that the evening came before the morning in a day.
But then I noticed how the evening was dark until the moon appeared.
And the moon, once it had come, brought the light of the sun into the darkness of the night.
And, when the evening was finally over, we got the light of the sun falling directly onto us.
This all seems to be a nice big metaphor written in the heavens of how Jesus brings Light into the darkness before the rising of the sun.
