Finding faith through nature

Whenever I'm around nature: could be the local park or my backyard in the suburbs...I feel much more at peace. I saw the movie The Village recently. The one where people purposely live in the forest and it's already like 2004. They look, talk and dress like it's still the 1800s. Anyways, I realized that the people from that time (the 1800s) probably would have liked houses with AC and heaters in them. It would have been helpful to have a washer and dryer to clean their clothes. Even bathrooms with running water were unheard of back then. But I personally believe that these people had much more joy and less anxiety than many people who live now. Something about nature and the rocks, trees, birds etc. fills our hearts with joy and peace. So as we make progress with technology we make life easier for us...but in a way we lose something too.

I believe that God made nature to bring us joy and show his glory. I'm always looking up at the moon and stars at night because they never cease to amaze me. Sort of like when a daddy flips pancakes on a frying pan to impress his children. I react that way when I see the moon, the stars, and most creatures. It's like my dad up in heaven is "showing off." But I mean that in a good way!
So yeah...I totally get what you're saying.

I used to think it was a bit strange that the evening came before the morning in a day.

But then I noticed how the evening was dark until the moon appeared.
And the moon, once it had come, brought the light of the sun into the darkness of the night.

And, when the evening was finally over, we got the light of the sun falling directly onto us.

This all seems to be a nice big metaphor written in the heavens of how Jesus brings Light into the darkness before the rising of the sun.

we don't 'find' our Faith in nature,
we recognize it...
