Clothe Yourselves With Compassion And Kindness,
Even when we don't particularly like someone, scripture tells
us be good to them. God calls us to love everyone but it is
not possible to like everything people do. So while they are
creations of God and therefore are to be respected as human
we cannot hold everyone close to us. This entire chapter is
about forgiveness, patience and letting peace rule our hearts.
As much as anyone else I can relate to this because it is not
an easy thing to do sometimes. Actually Jesus said at one
point in scripture while addressing the apostles before they
were about to leave on their mission. He said if they don't
listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off of your
sandals. That also implies that we should still try but if after
trying we are unable to move someone then we go elsewhere.
Scripture also says: whatever you do, whether in word or deed
do it in the name of Jesus.
