Friends, in the evening mom came home and told sister is crying, and she told my mom that her husband is demanding dowry.

As you all know dowry is a social and evil problem, please do pray that God remove the dowry thought from bro.-in-law and his family's mind. Let them love and respect my sister and let she live a happy life with her husband.

Thank you!

O Lord, hear our prayer. We ask You remove the demand for dowry in bro in law's mind and comfort levi's sister. We pray true love from You bring them through, and others' eyes be opened too abt our man made traditions that may harm or hurt instead of help.

So what happens if they are already married, and he demands a dowry after the marriage, and everyone just tells him no?

What exactly happens?

I’m very sorry to hear about the difficult situation your sister is facing. I’m praying that God will intervene, minister to her husband and in-laws and provide help in a special way. May He be the center of their marriage and bless them daily with evidences of His great love and compassion (Lamentations 3:22-23). Grace and peace to you and your entire family.

How Levi according to Indian laws, it’s illegal to ask for dowry now due to the dowry prohibition act 1961. Demanding it is now a criminal offence and can result in prison apparently.

Maybe someone needs to remind them
