Did Jesus die on the cross to take the punishment for our sins?
To provide a one time demonstration of a unseen eternal work of the lamb of God slain from. . . . before the foundation of the world. .
Christ cannot die .It was a living sacrifice. Suffering unto death not dead.
God does not accept dead sacrifices.... that have no spirit life. He gave His Spirit live in jeopardy of his own Holy Spirit . Its how the parable drink the blood is defined, as it relates to man's blood.
Drinking literal blood and eating literal flesh would promote cannibalism. Blood was poured out of the sacrifice Like with Christ to show Spirit life was given. . . a unseen work viewed by faith . Not looking to the temporal seen as
if it could profit.
Even the Son of man in resect to his own flesh and blood said it as that seen. . . corrupted (dead) flesh and blood cannot profit ..
Peter was given the faith to understand there is no such thing as holieness of the flesh in respect to the things seen . when confronted with the law the flesh profits for nothing zero he said.... "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the
words of
eternal life."
It is the
spirit that
quickeneth; the
flesh profiteth nothing: the
words that I speak unto you, they are
spirit, and they are
life.
But there are some of you that
believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that
believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man
can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
From that time many of his
disciples went back, and walked no more with
him. Then said
Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
Then Simon Peter answered him,
Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the
words of
eternal life. John6:63-68
Again no such thing as
corrupted flesh of
eternal life.
