How do we live daily in God's grace? By this I mean how do we go about resting daily in his grace because of what Jesus did in securing those who place their faith and trust in him? How do you rest in God's grace in your own lives?

Well......just a thought to ponder....GRACE IS A POSITION that we are placed into by FAITH AND SALVATION...as a believer we are never NOT IN A PLACE OF GRACE......

In the GRACE WE ARE having been saved by faith and that not of ourselves, it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast.

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace WHEREIN WE STAND, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Resting in the grace of God is totally profound to us ...at least to me. The story of Mary and Martha comes to mind.
What a beautiful place to be when at the feet of Jesus. A total surrender of self will and 100 percent trust in Gods.
Admitting we are broken, we are poor, in need of saving, healing, and most of all his love.
The riches of God are not counted as wealth as gold or silver , but they bring peace and joy to the soul. Contentment in all things, endurance in our sufferings and tribulations.
Knowing that we are excepted and loved right where we're at should bring gladness to your heart, Comfort to our souls,.
The mighty works of Jesus will stand the test of time and beyond.....the work of the father is to believe the son.

Yes. It is God who keeps us in his grace. This is why I wanted to use the word rest. For someone like myself, I may read a word from Scripture and be encouraged by it. Then it seems so easy for doubt to come not long afterwards. Perhaps this is where that sword of the Spirit and shield of faith comes in. The word of God to stand on for the faith and that faith that says I choose to believe the word of God over these other things.

How do I rest in Gods grace, well, it means I dont worry about stuff thats unimportant.

For example. I work 4 days a week and even have school holidays off. I dont worry about work on my days off. I dont think I need to do extra days I accept these days I have off as grace. The world doesnt revolve around me and people wont die if Im not there. I trust that God has everything in his hands even when Im sleeping.

I think John said it best.

“I write these things so you may KNOW you have eternal life. And through these things continue to believe in him.

It is our focus on what we HAVE and where we will GO no matter what happens, that keeps us focused on grace, And On him.

It is when doubt creeps in that we doubt God and self. And start to wander away from Grace. And thats dangerous.

You simply rest in Christ and His finished work of redemption, and then rest in the power of the Holy Spirit to save you from yourself. It is an act of faith, and the just shall live by faith.

PSALM 23
1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Yes, doubt can do that. I believe the doubt that is more dangerous is that kind that no matter how much you research and look into it, it comes back. At the same time doubt may serve a temporary purpose in encouraging reading of Scripture as an example. I have dealt with questioning my salvation plently of times and the doubt may have in part encouraged me to seek answers in the bible. Still if this is so, there was an element of faith in the mix because one thing that has encouraged me to seek is a verse from the Psalm 34:4 which reads: " I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." (KJV). There comes a point in time in the reading and thinking about Scripture to decide to believe it and stand on it or not and one doesn't need complete understanding before choosing to believe it.

That is good. I really like how he is described as the good shepherd.

Certain things that I find encouraging from the bible:

- the sealing of the Holy Spirit( Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30)

- Being of the body of Christ(see 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

- United in Spirit with the Lord( see 1 Corinthians 6:17)

- Once dead in trespasses and sin but God saved his own but grace through faith in Christ( see Esphesians 2:4-9)

- The description of Jesus as the good Shepherd( John 10:14)

Those verses about trusting in God( Jeremiah 17:7, Psalm 34:8 are some examples)
