I Have Called You And You Are Mine,
The Lord speaks to us in very generous terms directly
to our hearts. There is no doubt in what He says, only
certainty. He is not making a bargain with us, He is not
saying I will do this, this and this for you and you better do
this, this and this for me. He leaves it open to us, He asks
for acceptance; not demands it. There is a large gap in
love if we are made to do something rather than we do it
with the love in our hearts. Listening to orders, rules and
regulations is only the beginning of our spiritual growth.
We are still in the shallow end of the pool, not yet willing
to plunge into the deepest part. This is never meant to
be something we read about, It has always meant to be
something for us to be about. The Lord pours His living
water out upon us but if we don't hold out our dipper, we
will never capture it. Then once we capture it, it is our
place to give it away. A side effect of that is that the more
we give, the more that love comes back to us. The scent
of a rose remains in the hand that gives it away.
