So . . . ? Is this about sexual immorality? or is about salvation? (another salvation thread! . . . . :censored:)

Sexual immorality: It is always sin! If you are working with someone caught in the sin, deal with it biblically in love!

Salvation and works: we are saved by grace through faith and are God's workmanship!

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service

so are we still going to sin and be sure that we are saved? It is dangerous to think you can continue in sin and get away with it

Purity, Holiness in all areas of ones life is God’s standard, very simple. We all have strengths and weaknesses. If we try and fix any area of our life, on our own, we will struggle and fail. When we seriously repent, and call on God for help is where our victory lies.

Salvation is β€œone & done,” sanctification is daily and lifelong.

why is this op being called a bomb?

seems to me there are enough discussions in the Family forum that satisfies where most people here stand

as far as preaching it from the pulpit goes, I can state emphatically that yes, this subject is well covered in many churches

frankly, most folks are most likely tired of discussing it rather than choosing to avoid it

however, that does not go to say no one will participate
IMO

ps...I for one, was making zzzzz's when you posted this op at 3:01 in the morning. at 8:29 in the morning, I was drinking coffee and watching the Mueller fiasco

It is even more dangerous and false to believe that sin causes the loss of salvation.......either JESUS paid it in full or he did not....MY bible states there is NO MORE sacrifice for SIN and that he sanctifies FOREVER..........but hey......I guess many just cannot accept the truth

I don't understand (well actually I do, but in the interest of not diverting the thread, will not refer to motive...I watch Judge Judy hahahaha)

if we think once saved always saved then this kind of doctrine will lead to many people taking the mark of the beast thinking they will will make it to heaven .And they will lose their salvation taking the mark

Hi Danja, you have some mixed up theology going on here IMO.

We don"t "make it" to Heaven, as if it's a struggle we work for, we are born again Children of God, who GAVE us eternal life. Even if you don't believe in a Pre-trib rapture, don't you think your Heavenly Father will keep you not only from taking the mark, but all sorts of evil?

Sorry the word "make it "sounded confusing .It basically meant people who will take the mark will lose their salvation .
This bible says in Matthew 10 :33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

Of course I will not take the mark of the beast and I don't have a revelation about when the rapture will happen .Either way i believe God protects me of all sorts of evil and if i have to i will go through tribulation ,maybe even die for Christ

it is my understanding, from scripture, that is if you do belong to Christ you will or would not, take any mark in any case

either we are kept or we are not

either God keeps us to the uttermost or He does not

if He does not, than how exactly does salvation work? is it a flip floppable sort of salvation or is our salvation sure in Christ?

I will add that I have not seen evidence that most people believe we can continue sinning and living as people do without Christ

I don't understand why things like that are even inserted into the conversation on salvation when that is so

why do people have to continually try to somehow SUBVERT what people say?

for that matter, that subversion goes to both sides

A true counselor makes sure shame is removed and cast down.
Sexual sin carries shame.
Deliverance, washing in the blood, forgiveness brings freedom and joy.
Shame reappears through different doors. Counceling and training show people how to cast off shame. Cast it down. Refuse it.

I say this because i have seen awesome men/women of God deal with it in counsel/ministry and to see them free of shame is a beautiful thing.
