In Revelation 5, Jesus takes a scroll from GOD's hand and removes it's seals (Jesus is the only one who can open the scroll) this begins a series of events that end Satan's rule on this earth and it ends with the GOD's Kingdom coming and GOD's will being done on earth as it is in Heaven. does anyone know who wrote the scrolll or when it was written or why?

The scroll is written by God as it has the seals, every word comes from God John 1:1

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass Rev.1:1

In short, the scroll is Revelation from chapter 6 onward.

God wrote the scroll. He may have used an angel for this purpose. Eventually He wanted John to write down everything (other than what was said by the Seven Thunders) so that all mankind would have this Revelation from God and Christ.

As to the "why", God has given His children an overview of things to come until the New Heavens and the New Earth are established. It is a privilege to know what lies ahead for this universe, since the bulk of the human race has no idea about this.

At the same time any person who is unsaved will see in Revelation that the wrath of God comes upon the unbelieving and the ungodly. Therefore Revelation is an incentive to repent and be converted, to flee from the wrath to come, and from eternal Hell (the Lake of Fire).

1) does anyone know who wrote the scrolll or

2) when it was written or

3)why?
1) It was written by God. Dan 10v21, Rev 20v12, 13v8.

2) It was written before the foundation of the world. Acts 15v18.

3) The seven seals show the stages in the evil career of Antichrist (which covers the last 7 years of this age, Dan 9v27 with Matt 24), God has shown it to His Church so that we know the great evil that is ahead and to get close to Him so that we'll be able to come through the great tribulation with an overcoming faith. Rev 7v9,10,14.

Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
Rev 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
Rev 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

The Bible says that Jesus is the beginning of creation, God manifest in flesh, the man Christ Jesus, and the firstborn among the creatures.

For God already had the plan to come in the future in flesh before He started creation, and God calls things that have not happened yet, as though they already happened, for if it is a plan of God to happen in the future it is the same as if it happened in the beginning, for it will surely come to pass with no hindrance.

Which the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, and the prophets blood shed from the foundation of the world, and all the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Which John 1:1, 3, is translated like this.

In the beginning was the plan of God to come in the future in flesh, and that plan was with God before He laid down the foundation of the world, and that plan was God manifest in the flesh.

All things were created with the plan of God to come in the future in flesh, and without that plan God would of never created anything that He created, for Jesus is the reason creation is successful, eternal life, and to judge the angels and people.

Adam sinned, and by one man all are sinners in need in salvation, and by one man, the man Christ Jesus all are saved who accept the truth.

John wept for there was no man worthy to open the book, which means worthy to be able to give eternal life to people, and open heaven up to them to be able to dwell with God, and be reconciled unto Him.

But the angel told John do not weep for Jesus is worthy to open the book, give eternal life to people.

So the book is written by God, and was a plan of God to provide salvation before He started creation, and Jesus is the only one worthy to open the book, and read it, for He is the only one that can provide salvation.

So although the book is written by God, and nobody is worthy to open it, and read it, and look upon it, it mainly means that Jesus is the only one that can provide salvation.

But we know of what of salvation so we would know of what that book would be about, for that is what it is about salvation, the book being opened representing salvation.

But nobody would not know of salvation, and could not of had it if Jesus did not relate that to us, and provide it for us.

But it is the first plan God had before He created anything, so that salvation was sure to come, and God would not change His mind about it, and could not change His mind about concerning His nature that does not change.

God is not like us for He is holy, and cannot change His mind once He promises something that he declares is iron clad, for His nature would not allow it, like we can change our mind about a promise being in the flesh.

The book was already established before God laid down the foundation of the world, for salvation was already a plan of God to give mankind before He laid down the foundation of the world.

It was all made for people starting with the man Christ Jesus, and the saints will have a higher position in heaven than that of the angels, for they will have glorified bodies, and the angels are ministering spirits, and assist the saints in salvation, and last in the authority structure of God, and the angels desire to look in to the salvation of the saints.

Please remember I only ask questions for the sake of clarity not to be obtuse. I agree GOD wrote the scroll, Why did GOD have to "give" Jesus this revelation if they are one? Why was Jesus the only one who could open the scroll. The scroll obviously begins the end of this world as we know it..... Do you think people have an understanding of the significance that Jesus sacrifice plays in the ending of this sinful world?

Thank-you for responding I read the scriptures you directed me to. Question: The scroll which is sealed with GOD's seal can only be opened by the slain lamb., the scriptures you directed me to describe the books of judgment opened to show a man his works.
I think the scroll was written after Satan's fall as it was not until after Satan's fall that a plan of salvation was required. When I applied for this site I was asked "when were you "saved" I say now I was saved the day Jesus died on the cross. and so was everyone else.

Hello This prophesy was known by GOD as GOD knows all things. The Revelation of Jesus given to him by GOD, is the prophesy of the end of this world and finally after the quest Satan goes on for souls following his 1000 years imprisonment the end of Satans rule of this world. After Satan's final demise the Kingdom of GOD is come and GOD's will is done on earth as it is in Heaven. Without Jesus sacrifice this ending would have not taken place. Without the Christ's sacrifice the only way to end it would have been for GOD breath in and destroy all mankind....
Job 34:14 If he should set his heart to it
and gather to himself his spirit and his breath,
15 all flesh would perish together,
and man would return to dust.

Romans 8: 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.
As far as who brought sin into the world, you believe it to be Adam, and if I was to say Eve ate of the fruit first, you would respond with Eve was of "mankind" meaning you think Adam who was a man or mankind is responsible for "tainting" GOD's perfect creation itself. I disagree. I think Satan is the evil one who brought sin to GOD's perfect creation, Satan is the entity that separated man from GOD and he does his job so well that no man can say he is without sin and GOD cannot live with sin. Jesus however brought Salvation to this world a path back to the Creator, he did so by proving a man could live on earth and follow the laws of GOD and the scripture written by man (for you see to not break the 10 commandments we must not hurt our fellow man) so Jesus indeed followed GOD's and Moses laws so as not to be seen as disobedient in the eyes of the Scribes and Pharisees.

My question to you is Who or what do you think Jesus the Christ saved us from?

Why did GOD have to "give" Jesus this revelation if they are one?
They are one and yet they are two divine persons. Jesus is enthroned at the right hand of the Father. And Father is the "Head" of Christ, even though Jesus is fully God. And He was the only one with the right and authority to open that scroll. That is because of what He accomplished in His death, burial, and resurrection.
