Renew A Steadfast Spirit Within Me,
It is a good idea always to make an examination of conscience .
I believe most of us falter according to God's word from time to
time, so it is good to make ourselves right with Him. So this
psalm expresses the need for redemption. It is good to know,
once those sins are forgiven, they are forgiven forever. We need
not go back and confess them again. In fact that is a lack of trust
that God didn't do what He promised in the first place. It is not a
good idea to carry all our past sins around with us and burden our
journey to a point where we are unable to walk any further. That
is creating a new heart means. It means we start over. It means
our sin was forgiven and we have a new life. We are born yet
again because our standing with God has been restored. God is
so merciful, benevolent and loving and He is continually trying to
fix what is broken. Our faith tells us it is fixed and we need to go
from there. Jesus did not come to kill us but rather to bring us
eternal life.
