The Stones Fell on Me

The temptation was great
And no one would see
In secret I did it
But the stones fell on me

It was easy to hate him
He was so different
Words poured from my mouth
But the stones fell on me

The truth would tell all
It was easier to just lie
My tongue swore it true
But the stones fell on me

It wasn't something I needed
But having it would be grand
My hand slipped it into my pocket
And stones fell on me again

In days of old the law was clear
Stones to those who would not see
Blind I stumbled and stole and lied
So all those stones fell on me

Today I stand and now I see
Born again I've been set free
And I am thankful to my Lord
For all those stones that fell on me
