Hold On To What Is Good,
Once we have surrendered to God, there is no going
back. His sanctification brings us new life and once
we have put on new life in the Spirit, the old life has no
power over us since it was a life in the flesh. So what
the scripture is warning us of is to always keep going
forward and yet at the same time when we are deep in
the Spirit it becomes almost impossible to go back. It
says in scripture to pray and pray unceasingly so that
all our energy goes completely to God and things that
are not of God become totally unnecessary in our
Christian development and the Holy Spirit becomes
our permanent guide.
