I originally joined this site to have some spiritual encouragement and be uplifted and now I'm wondering if that's a realistic goal. I feel like people are more concerned with proving that they are right, or arguing for the sake of arguing or getting on the singles forum to inform others that they are single (which if you are posting in the singles forum it would be a logical deduction that you identify yourself as single). I'm just curious what any of you see as the purpose of this site and how you see spiritual encouragement played out in real life terms.

I personally believe that while some Christans do argue just to hear themselves do so, many are simply trying to find answers for whatever problem or issue they face. The problem comes when different "factions" of Christianity start warring with each other, each one claiming their traditions are more right than any other. The apostle Paul warned against this practice, and yet many believers still engage in it. I think such tactics could be summed up in a single phrase: "People have been so eager to reduce God to a set of rules."

Hello Brothers and Sisters

Spiritual encouragement and christian fellowship is also the reason I joined this site aswell. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to learn from my fellow christians, particularly those of different denominations. That stated the state of the church, that is, those that call themselves christian, is currently extremely fractured. Yes, there are many groups, and yes, they have differing points of view. That stated we are all brothers and sisters in christ and we should put these differences aside and realise that.

God Bless.

The live chat is really where I get my fellowship. I dont have any Christian friends anywhere near me so it makes it easier than doing it alone.
