I love all the things most of you do as well! My very favorite thing is a rocking chair,I can think so well if the wonderful things God has placed in my life when I'm rocking!

The sound of a hit n miss engine running.

The sound of a steam locomotive under load.

Hearing an old John Deere tractor working.

Alone time with God
Randomness
The sound of food sizzling
The crunch of toast
The smell of freshly baked cookies
The sound of rain
The feeling I get when the sun hits my face as daylight breaks
Fauna and flora
Mountains and valleys
Rainbows and butterflies
The oh so very rare sleep ins
Road trips
Melodic voices

And I think I should stop there.

Musical machinery.

Someone sent me a video like that a couple of years ago.

It's fun to watch and hear.
Although I lack the musical talent, I do drag the hit n miss engine out of the garage from time to time if I have some project going and just listen to it as background music. It's better than the radio.

Thanks for the video Lynx!

A warm breeze, the smell of the ocean and fresh cut grass, children’s laughter and being greeted by my dogs.

A good, deep and meaningful conversation with a close friend.
Which reminds me of when God reveals something in scripture to you that you haven't seen before.

My favorite things are everything you all have listed here. The culmination of those things is the happiness we pick up as we go through life. We cannot dwell within that happiness continuously as that would be abnormal, say like while we were fighting for our lives. But it is within us and we can draw on it and have a healthy relationship with it while not trying to make it a state of our existence. So maybe we all are relatively happy after all. 12-jfj.gif

Traveling somewhere new. I feel so alive. I loved the time I spent in Turkey. It didn't matter what I did for a living, what groups I belonged to or my relationship with friends and family. I was only Deborah. I was measured by my heart. It was a great challenge. I ended up lost in Asia, missing a flight in Cappadocia and almost accidentally married in Istanbul! I made friends for life and redefined how I saw myself. My favourite memory, was walking down a street and seeing this woman. She was small, in a traditional raincoat and headscarf. She was carrying packaged tied with string. She looked straight at me. She came up, put down her load, and put her hand on my face. She said "Tatlim", which means sweet. She picked up her boxes and walked on. It was one of the most powerful moments of my life. I will always be grateful for that encounter.
