Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled,

Jesus wants us to have peace in our lives and not
to worry so much. At this time He was preparing
to be the sacrificial lamb. He knew His time was
growing near. He is trying to persuade all of His
apostles that He will send to them a Comforter, He
would send the Holy Spirit. There are things that
we cannot change as the years go on and in this
case we need to trust God. Many ask why did God
do this or why did God do that. But it is not for us
to question God but to trust Him. Many things can
seem absurd to us but we are not Him. The things
we can change, we should be diligent in trying to
change so we can fill our hearts with His love.

You are right. This life doesn't even last as much as we usually think anyway. Soon we will all be with God.
