Nor The Arrow That Flies By Day,

Psalm says that God will be our refuge and our strength.
But we need to live in Him and do what He tells us to do.
I know that it is easy to read that and think that just cuz
God will always protects us doesn't mean we don't have to
play a role in that development. When God asks us to do
something and we don't do it; we can't then turn around
and say God let us down. Our relationship with God has
to be a partnership because the Psalmist says that God
will be our strength when we love Him. We will dwell in
His house forever when we accept Him and trust Him in
total commitment. Being a child in God is not just a word
or a pastime, it is a lifetime. Wherever the Lord goes, we
go; whatever He does, we do. We may falter from time to
time but He will always pick us up and our only part of that
is we need to take His hand.

Not saying that bad things never come to the righteous, but usually disobedience is what opens the back door to the enemy and they sneak in like a Trojan horse and cause problems in our lives... it's literally a "breach"

There are also situations that happen in our life where we will never know God's purposes. I think of Naomi in the book of Ruth. Her life was a disaster. She goes to a foreign land with her husband who dies. She has two sons whose names mean pining and puny. They then marry foreign women and then the sons die. Naomi's life made no sense. I am sure people talked about her when she returned. I am sure people asked her why she didn't have God's blessing in her life. It was a disgrace to return with this foreign daughter in law and live off of her family. They may not have been happy to have another person to support. There is no way this woman was ever going to understand God's purpose in her life. I am sure she had many well meaning people encouraging her to confess her sins. I am sure she may have felt abandoned. There was nothing in her life that would point to what God was doing through her, to bring Ruth home with her. There is an important lesson in there. We may never know why certain things happen. Even if God told us, the answer might make no sense to us. We need to trust that God has plans that are beyond us. We have to believe he is good and that that can be enough. These are just my thoughts.
