I'm fundamentally a Charismatic Mennonite Brethren, much like a Quakers or Friends. The main differences are we believe in ADULT public Baptism in public and some perform foot washing in Church as well as Communion. We believe in praying for our leaders but trusting them is a different matter. We only see Jesus as the final authority.[/QUOTE]

I started working and paying taxes when I was 15 YOA.
I have no issue paying taxes. I have an issue when taxes are unfair and overburden the people.

My duty as a Christian is to love God above all else and love my neighbor as myself.
No one disagrees with this. But you can vote and still do that.

...because I have chosen social work as an avocation, dosn't make me a Socialist...

Never said you were a socialist.

My duty is only to God and my fellow man now.

Again, you can vote and still do that. Thousands of Christians in this country do every election.

Abortion for birth control is Murder

Abortion for any reason is murder, perhaps that is what you meant. I'm guessing it is.

Think about what you said. When did I even suggest that I support abortion or any Democrat since Jimmy Carter? Trudeau isn't my problem. I didn't vote for him.

I don't recall saying you support abortion. Trudeau is an example of what will happen here if Dems get in again. That was the point.

Do you think high taxes on the likes of the Koch Bros. The Walton's or Jeff Bezos is really going to hurt Americans?

Those are who you consider rich. Who gets to determine who is rich? At what level are you rich? Because the numbers the Dems throw around are a lot lower than you seem to think it is.

We believe in praying for our leaders but trusting them is a different matter. We only see Jesus as the final authority.
I believe Jesus is the final authority too. I don't worry about trusting leaders. I vote them in and I can vote them out just as quickly. That's why we have elections. The founding fathers were very intelligent. Know their platform, know the issues. If they fail, toss 'em out. Simple.

Well abortion to save a mothers life I would consider manslaughter not murder.

I do not forsee an acceptable candidate. I won't waste my vote on someone to vote against someone else. Votes are not weapons.

I looked up the richest people in America before posting. And I do have an issue with Koch Industries, and Monsanto as well. The Walton's aka Wal Mart low pay, short hours and no benefits plus they are a threat to American factory workers who just can't compete with socialist workers who will work for 75 cents an hour or less. The other name I mentioned is CEO of Amazon and richer than all of them. If you are against globalization The Walton's and Bezos are the enemies not frightened refugees.

Vote who out quickly? it takes 2-6 years depending upon their posted position. Governors, Congressmen The Commander in Chief? Imagine putting up with president Sanders for four years. A vote for a candidate is a vote for the candidate there is no vote against. Hitler or Stalin would you choose either? One was a Marxist posing as a Socialist. The other was a Fascist posing as a Socialist.

Trump in my opinion is a con man pretending to be rich with other peoples money. Bernie is talking nonsence and Hilary, is pretending to be a Democrat while taking money from the other side of the old boy's club. She has gotten quite wealthy doing it.

You inferred that if I don't vote for a republican that I'm supporting socialism and abortion while in fact I'm not voting for any thing that isn't on the ballots and no candidates either. If the Socialists win It's not my fault. If the bankers and wall street win it's not my fault either. I'm done. I'll vote for issues not people.

Honestly I just do what is quickest and easiest to me. Figure the different colors made it clear. Not trying to be snippy. The other way means I have to copy/paste every time correct, or am I doing it wrong. Example...

I copy/pasted that, which is simple. But when responding to a longer post it can be time consuming. Any shortcut?
Kayla, when you respond as you do, your whole post ends up in the squished down quote box, and is therefore not even visible unless the box is clicked to expand, but even then, if someone were to quote your post, it would be filled with the content from the post you quoted intermingled with your own, and that could be problematic for anyone wishing to respond to only your points.

An easy work around is to simply insert the [ quote] and [ /unquote] tags (but with no spaces) around the other persons' comments to which you are responding. You do not have to type it in each time as they are available in the drop down from the arrow icon to the right hand side of the smilies' icon above the message box. It says "Insert" when you hover over it :) It does take some time and I would understand if you did not want to do it that way for the sake of your own convenience...

You would not have to copy and paste the other persons' comments each time, though, if that was your concern. When you reply to any post (which effectively quotes it), you would simply insert the closing quote tag [ /quote] <- but with no spaces ;) at the end of the first point you are responding to and then start your response. The rest of the other person's post is still there, right? So after your first point, you would then insert the quote tags around the next point, by highlighting the part you want to respond to, and continue answering in that fashion. One mistake people make is having one too many or too few quote tags, because the closing quote tag from the original quoted post is still there at the end of the quoted person's post. As with anything, it may take a little practice, and making use of the Preview can be helpful in the beginning stages (y):geek:

You are welcome :) When you highlight the part you want to quote wrap and then make that selection from the "Insert" drop-down, it can save a lot of time and fuss of cutting and pasting (y)

The question could be posed to you as well :giggle: Only Jesus can bring about the changes people with wisdom want to see. In light of that fact, it strikes me as strange that anyone would think some politician could meet that standard.

You know Franklin Graham came to our city a couple years back. I know not everyone agrees with him but I do on this point. He said Christians complain about politicians but they won't run for office themselves. He said Christians should run for office in their own towns and cities. Not everyone wants to run for president but we can run for offices that can influence our towns and make an impact where we live. I thought he made a good point.

Good question. So I vote on issues not people any more. Let me vote for or against abortion, Off shore oil & gas drilling, Crossdressing in public schools. City & county bonds. pay raises for the teachers we trust our children with a 1/4 of their lives from ages 5-18. And background checks. Should teachers be allowed to carry concealed firearms in schools? I'd like to vote for or against things like that And not have people decide for me.

Should never having been bankrupt be a required qualification for someone with a national financial responsibility, authority and influence? I'd like to be able to vote on that matter.

If divorce disqualifies a person from becoming a pastor because if he can't keep his own family together how can he be trusted running a church? Than how can someone who's been through bankruptcy more than once be trusted with our tax money?

There are multiple issues Bob, do you have a hierarchy, are they prioritized?

I am a little confused here.... if we vote strictly by party platform how does claiming bankruptcy have any bearing on our decision at the ballot box?

I wouldn't allow anybody that's been bankrupt more the once or violations of the Glass-Steagall act to have a federal position that requires financial responsibility.
