Are ghosts / spirits just demons?

What do you think of all these ghost hunting shows that are on TV? Do you think that ghosts etc are just demons? Most of them just make me laugh, they're so over done & over acted, but I have encountered strange things myself.
What strange things have happened to you with regards to ghosts / spirits / demons, and what do you think about it all?

I believe ghosts are just demons masqurading as people who have died..

I've had some scary stuff happen to me. I was home alone one night & it wasn't that late, but it was a quiet night. I know for a fact that our neighbour, joined onto the house, wasn't home. Most of the houses around were dark, as people there are mainly elderly and retire early. I heard VERY CLEARLY heavy footsteps coming along the hall to the lounge door, and it was like the person was wearing very heavy steel capped work boots. I didn't think too much of it, as we used to keep spare keys for family members who'd locked themselves out. I thought it was one of my brothers who'd come in the back door, (he had a key to get in as the doors were always locked at night). Then at the lounge door, the footsteps suddenly stopped. I investigated carefully & couldn't find anybody inside or outside (just looked out all the windows, didn't go outside as I was getting scared by then). Then I put all the lights on and just prayed. But I didn't feel any sort of malevolent presence at all.
My Mum sees spirits there all the time & some are scary, some are not.
Strange - I just wonder if it was a demon, but to what purpose I wonder?

When Saul went to the witch of Endor to summon the spirit of Samuel, it wasn't a demon that showed up. I've read that demons are the ghosts of fallen angels and the evil people that were killed in the flood of Genesis 6.

Interesting. What about ghosts / spirits that look like & talk like deceased love ones?

I don't know. I've never experienced that. My Father had a favorite hat. He wore it everywhere. When he was in the casket the mortuary neglected to put it no him. I protested and they corrected it. The next time I looked at him he appeared to be smiling. That's all I know.

All I know is, when I die I'm not hanging around HERE! As the old song says, goodbye, world, goodbye.

Maybe ghosts are people who are not going to Heaven, and are trying to put off going to Hell for as long as possible?

Nah, that wouldn't explain Samuel.

Hi Tasha, Looks to me there are only two kingdoms, His, and the wrong one. There is the Spiritual realm to both, I am up to about 20+ testimonies from folks who have been reassured of eternity by visitations and indications from and of loved ones who have gone before.

To me, ghosts are people who wear sheets over their heads and yell BOO!!

Call them what they are: SPIRITS.. Whether bad or good, they are spirits, not ghosts.

I think ghosts/spirits are either demons. Or TV trickery - don’t forget the
TV trickery!

I don't watch those shows. They even have one now that's called psychic kids. Please!
But I do see the commercials. I always wonder, why is it they hunt spooks in the dark?
Likely because it is easier to hide the grips and other employees who are hidden and making all those ghost like special effects happen for the camera.

Jesus Himself acknowledged the presence of ghost's .

I don't think we are supposed to mess with them, as
He allows they may encounter us.

This suggests it wasn’t Samuel, but a demon.

Remember also that Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus but they were in their
glorified bodies. Samuel was not!
