We obey the New Testament Jesus Christ because we are no longer under the law; we are now slaves to the New Testament Jesus Christ Who demands our love and obedience to Him through his Holy Will and His Holy Cross.

Yes GOD IS a SPIRIT and those who worship HIM MUST worship HIM In spirit and In TRUTH.GODs SPIRIT to our spirit and our spirit to GODs SPIRIT.
Under law they purified the flesh but they could not In their own strength because of the weakness of their flesh make their spirits perfect and GOD In CHRIST said be perfect the way GOD IS perfect so then JESUS made a new covenant of faith that man could attain so that whosoever believes might Inherit Eternal Life.

Romans 10:5-8
KING James Version

5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down [from above]:)

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are whom you obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto justice.

Matthw 10:38
And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.

Romans 8: KJV
{14} "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. {15} For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

As far as salvation Is concerned IMO “sin unto death”Is talking about a person who has not been reborn yet and they need to get saved which In my opinion Is a one time event, yes,I’m one of those OSAS people and “obedience unto righteousness or justified by obedience “IMO Is talking about choose to get saved.

IMO your post In particular Is speaking on progressive sanctification when you talk about “sin unto death and obedience unto righteousness“

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
