Eating out can get pretty expensive (especially for a family with growing, always hungry boys!)
And personally I don't like how a place can be so hit and miss with the quality of food. It really depends on what day/time you go and the cook,
as well as the servers attitude.
Sometimes you end up with poor service + poor food quality and a high bill :(
I've started looking for copy cat recipes online, as well as healthier versions.
You know you've hit a winner when the kiddos are "MMMMM"ing every bite, AND asking for seconds.
This is one of those:

Copy Cat Olive Garden Salad

Dressing:
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
1 Tablespoons White Wine Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice (the kind in the little plastic lemon works great)
2 teaspoons Sugar
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1-2 cloves smashed garlic
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Mix above in food processor until well mixed and smooth.
Let set at least 5 minutes (it will thicken up the longer it sets)

SALAD

8-9 OZ bag salad mix (I use an Italian mix)
3/4 cup black olives (whole or sliced per your preference, I've used both..... whole gives it the "authentic recipe" look)
1/2 thin sliced red onion
2 Plum tomatoes sliced

Mix above ingredients together in salad bowl.
Add dressing. Mix well to coat.
Top with choice of croutons.
