When we were saved most of us started learning the basics through memory verses and repeated references to certain basic passages like John 3:16-17> "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." KJV

or 1st Thess. 5: 8) "But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation." NIV

What are some of your favorite early memory verses for young Christians to remember? Songs like amazing Grace count also.

Without fail every Sunday and at prayer meeting on Wednesday evening, Amazing Grace was one of the regular hymns in our church.
It wasn't until I was in my late teens that I found the reason for the lyrics having come to us. They were authored by a slave owner who had a change of heart having survived a raging storm at sea, with more slaves in the belly of the ship, on their way to ports of call.
Amazing Grace is his testimony. Finding Christ, once blind but then he could see the error of his ways.
That song as a child always made me cry once it was played at my maternal grandparents funeral.

The Book of John chapter 3:16 was a verse I had to memorize in our Kindergarten to 2nd grade Sunday school class. It has remained a favorite.

The Book of John chapter 6: Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

The Book of 1stTimothy chapter 4:6 If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 9 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. 10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

The Book of James chapter 2:19You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

Issiah 55:11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. KJV.

Showers of blessings
Showers of blessings we need
Mercy drops
Round us are falling
But for the showers we plead

From King James online. Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

One of the fondest memories I have of Christianity 101, was hearing "He's got the whole world in His hands", sung by hippies clapping their hands, in Tujunga California in 1978.

Psalm 95:4-5
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
5The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.

Matthew 5

Matthew 6

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8)

1 John 4:7-21 NIV

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
