Christian therapy for LGBT people

Here we have had a debate of how some churches have councelling for gays that has difficulties balancing their faith and their sexual preferences.

And of course. The churches doing so is labelled as homophobic and the politicians cry out for a legislation against it. They even say it should rather be offered a therapy for those suffering from Christianity.

I don't deny that we live in a fallen world, and that some are having same sex attraction. And we all, wether we like it or not, have a tendency to sin. Either sexually or with greed, gossiping or coveting things or people in our surroundings. We are all sinners. And we all need Christ.

If people choose to get married as a same sex couple, I have nothing against that. But leave the church out of it. We are all free to follow Christ or to choose a life in sin.

It should be compulsory for churches to councel people with LGBT instead of having to face legislation against it. But we all have to, at one point or another, choose. Christ or the ways of the world. You can't have both.

I think if someone who is a member of the LGBT community, who have added additional letters to their community acronym; Q, "Queer" , and "T" Twin Soul, should be able to exercise their religious freedom if they choose to seek counseling at a church.

Some of us do need therapy though. For our weird personalities.

Sounds like hypocritical discrimination towards Churches. They are control freaks but wont admit it.
Maybe Churches should pay taxes. Then they cant be targeted.

True- but the church here is already a puppet for the authorities spreading the "gospel of political correctness"

I don't think most people realize, but in the US you can be charged if you counsel a gay person to change to straight, even if they come to you and ask you. This is a certified Christian counsellor, could be church run or a Christian clinic or other setting.

However, you can counsel a straight person to be gay. In fact, you cannot refuse. In a course last year I took, we had a number of counsellors finishing off their PhDs. They felt oppressed and were worried about losing their licenses or being jailed. Even in Texas.

It wouldn't surprise me if Trudeau enacted some bill that did the same thing. Western society, esp Christian ✝️ is at, or has passed the tipping point.

Counselling involves truly listening to another person and allowing them to make their own decisions, free from coercion. No councillor can start from the position that they know what is best for someones life, even if they do feel wiser.
