We Are All The Work Of Your Hand,

What a great scripture of encouragement to us all. Partly
it is that we don't get too far ahead of ourselves and forget
where we came from. In a way, God is reigning us in and
saying slow down, be careful, I am with you. As importantly
He is saying, My will and not yours be done. It is not easy
to follow that strictly because our pride won't let us. In our
human condition, we feel the need to do as we want and not
give in too much but maybe just a little. However, God says
it is all or nothing. The more we insert our will, the easier it
gets for us to stray. It is God's will all day, every day. Once
we surrender to Him we start coming nearer to Him and He
is coming nearer to us. So it is all about faith and trust so are
we willing to give all or only part way. Our life on this planet
depends on it. The more God we have in us, the more our
lives are improved. Jesus you are my heart and my soul, my
life, my love and inspiration.

This reminds me of Jer. 18.3, wc also mentions the Potter and clay.

The Story Behind Have Thine Own Way, Lord

In 1902, Adelaide A. Pollard was wishing to go to Africa as a missionary but found herself incapable to raise the needed money to fund the journey. Very disheartened, she visited a prayer ceremony and heard a woman say "It really doesn't matter what you do with us, Lord, just have your own way with our lives." These words encouraged Pollard and she pondered the story of the potter from Jeremiah 18:3. After returning home that evening, she wrote all four stanzas to what would become "Have Thine Own Way, Lord." Five years later George Stebbins composed a melody named "Adelaide" to accompany the text.
