I'm not sure what you mean by the creation account in Genesis.
how God made a firmament in the midst of the waters to divide the waters from the waters, etc.

i probably got a little bit ahead of myself here! my apologies!!!!!

I think we're both aware that there have been predictions of the end times going on for ages.....I recall lots of talk about it in the 80s, there's always some geo-political event that is pointed to. You already cited the creation the nation state of Israel, more recently there's been the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the break up of the former Soviet Union, the rise of Daesch (Islamic State).....it seems to me there's always something happening that has people pouring over scripture with Pharisee like zeal to discern how it all fits into the end times.
Absolutely do agree.

You're kidding right, lol
I've seen the arguments about the Earth being flat, videos and such... its interesting viewing even if I don't believe it.....but it did get me to thinking. What difference would it make to my if the Earth was flat? When most people thought the Earth was flat and then found out it was round....did the revelation have any impact on their lives at all? I can't imagine that it did. I can look into the sky through a telescope and see the moon, planets like Mars and Venus....they're obviously globes, we'd be a pretty silly looking planet with all the others being spheres.

Well no The Bible does say that, I just didn't understand why you said it in reply to my comment.

Wouldn't pilots know, at some point, if it was flat, it would be obvious. Also, the earth 'rotates' on it's axis.
Re end times, I see the groundwork being laid out for the 'anti-Christ, who is called 'the lawless one' in the Bible. I've heard more than once a remark about a conventional rule being disregarded as well as other standard procedures being ignored.

I read that the moon is actually not solid. And I think that truth in general is important regardless if we think it is worthy to know or not. No one should settle for lies in regards to anything, imo.

knowing the earth was flat would change everything. No more atheism, and science would be a joke.
The modern day narative is that we are meaningless meat bags on a tiny spec of dust floating through an infinite expanse. Our choices mean nothing, our lives mean nothing, and we have no higher purpose.

Contrast that with the knowledge of a flat Earth beneath a dome. We are the only truly intelligient life in existence, we were made for a purpose and our choices matter just like we do.

My sister forwarded me a link awhile ago now. A science professor in a YouTube video was giving a lecture wherein he stated in all the universe we are the only intelligent life anywhere at all.
I thought that was very naive for him to say. Especially considering what this one and only intelligent life anywhere at all has done and continues to do to its only habitable environment. And on a daily basis at that.
If that's the highest intelligence in all the universes, the universe should be very disappointed in our having lowered that bar.

Remember The Book of Job 9? I think God created other worlds with other life. But first recall the Book of John chapter 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

The Book of Job chapter 9
7 He speaks to the sun and it does not shine;
he seals off the light of the stars.
8 He alone stretches out the heavens
and treads on the waves of the sea.
9 He is the Maker of the Bear[a] and Orion,
the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.

The Book of Job chapter 38:31
“Can you bind the chains[b] of the Pleiades?
Can you loosen Orion’s belt?
32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons[c]
or lead out the Bear[d] with its cubs?
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Can you set up God’s[e] dominion over the earth?

I'm not wishing to be argumentative, but your thought that definitive proof of a world that lines up perfectly with Biblical teaching, that it would mean the death of atheism by and large and that the human population would embrace faith and the belief that we were created for a purpose....please forgive my cynicism but I have serious doubts.

I'm reminded of the story of Lazarus in Luke 16 19-31. This Lazarus, (not the one raised from the dead by Jesus) is often found begging outside the house of a rich man. Both Lazarus and the rich man die, but while Lazarus is in heaven with Abraham the rich man is in Hades and in torment. The rich man asks Abraham to send him to his brothers so that he might warn them and save them from torment. Abraham denies his request and says that even the miracle of being contacted by their deceased brother would not be enough....‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’

I think the same principle would apply here....even if the Biblical account of creation were 100% proven, many I think would remain unconvinced.

i tend to agree! people don't need proof to believe, they need faith! so even if proof was given to them, they would just twist it into another reason to rebel. there is lots of grey area on a hypothetical such as this. the revelation of a flat earth would radically alter the commonly held narrative of the origins of life either way though. How could people trust science when astronomers couldn't even figure out they've been looking at the ceiling this whole time?

Just curious how you know these are the 'end times'?

My own view on the end times....is that we're always in them. Perhaps I'm being egocentric, but at 53 I figure my end times are coming within the next 20-40 years give or take.....however I also know it could be much sooner, even tomorrow or this evening...I won't know the day or the hour. And that's not just me, that's my view for everyone.
Because when Jesus spoke to his disciples about the end times. Many of those events began in the 1st century. We have been in the end times for 2000+ years. Slowly other prophecies have come to pass including for example Israel becoming a nation again after WW2.

the mayans too. they would sacrifice hundreds of people a day sometimes for this demonic knowledge and favor. wicked stuff.
Yep pagan Civilizations have been influenced by Demonic activity and you can see many parallels between the tactics of these pagan worshippers. They often sacrifice and have crazy rituals but very similar as if they are worshipping the same demon or demons but the demon is just masquerading as something else stealing cultural uniqueness to blend in and be more appealing.

Very crafty, deceitful, and tricksters at the core, all United in the destruction of the body but also the soul as they tempt and lure them into sacrificing others, or mutilating themselves, and luring them further away into depravity until they become so wicked that they are like the people in the days of Noah. A people so depraved they are basically uncivilized animals.

Hmm, the flat earthers took over this thread before I found it.

On the original topic of aliens, I'm with Hobbes (of Calvin & Hobbes) on this one. If there were aliens, we would be able to hear them laughing at us.
