Mortal sins (against the Father and the Son, of weakness and ignorance) must not be played with , even if all weakness and ignorance are removed at the Parousia of Christ during death. Indeed, if we take pleasure in it, we make in our souls a taste for selfishness and pride that will attract us to solitary freedom of hell, which is exactly what Lucifer announced in Eden. But in the face of Christ, it will become a mortal sin against the Holy Spirit because there will be TOTAL lucidity and self-control.
This weight of sin is likely, in the face of the parousia of Christ, to make us despise his meekness and littleness (which is his main glory) and we will say:
"That's the Christ?"
So we must flee sin, out of fear not of Christ but of ourselves.
And sin follows us. He is invisible. I remember that anecdote that struck me. At the end of the apparitions of Lourdes, Bernadette wanted to be protected. She was found at a convent led by a high quality nun, a great ascetic. Once, a lady asked to see Bernadette. She expected to see Bernadette as a great mystic. But Bernadette did not like spending hours in prayer. She was simple, and preferred to serve in the kitchen and in the household. Seeing it, the lady made this acid remark:
Quote:
"That is Bernadette? Embarassed ..."
to which Bernadette responded with a laugh: "Yes, ma'am, that's just it!" And it struck me because I told myself that many of us, fervent Christians and secretly pretty sure of our salvation, we may react in the same way in FACE OF THE HOLY VIRGIN, WHO IS the smallest.
I am worried for our salvation and not a belief. How many of us will recognize oneself only by following Lucifer the Great? Faced with the Grandiose appearance full of dignity of Lucifer, this king of lonely and individualistic pride, we are likely to recognize our true path in him.
So the fear of hell must no longer be on the judgement of God who is all Love. He is ready to forgive ALL, 70 times 7 times, if we repent.
Fear must be about us. Because nobody knows if he will not be disappointed, at the coming of Christ in his glory at death, by so much HUMILITY and reject it.
”But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.” Exodus 33:20
