Grace to go on to perfection

Let us as many as are going on to perfection be likeminded" "Let us go on to perfection... and this we will do if God permits." Going on to perfection is by the Holy Spirit. We know not to advise others in the inner Way, it concerns them to come of themselves. Going on to perfection could be years from the time we become a disciple, like the disciples at Getsamene, they were heavy with sleep duriing "The hour and power of darkness."
This is intended for mutual encouragment: to gain understanding of the journey, as inspiration and motivation to go on. "Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get Wisdom, and withall get underdtanding." "Christ is made to us Wisdom from God."
There is half a study Jourmal on my page with an overview of the Journey to maturity: the other half does not fit. A work in progress. I hope to gain and share inspiration and to contonue the study.

Hello @stillness, you've certainly broached an excellent OP topic for us to discuss

How God sanctifies us is a mystery (as you mentioned), but that it is His desire that we be sanctified hardly is, yes .. "This is the will of God, your sanctification......." (1 Thess 4:3).

The means by which He, the Holy Spirit, sanctifies us could be an interesting side-topic to look into, though I believe the principle means He uses is laid out for us in verses such as these .. Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3, 119:9-11, 105; John 17:17; Romans 12:2; 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

I also find it incredible that while He continues His mighty work in our hearts throughout all of our days here (to continually grow us up in Christlikeness), He also calls/admonishes us to come alongside of Him and participate in our own sanctification (as we are able), by "working out" (by expressing in action) the salvation that He has & continues to work into us .. Philippians 1:6, 2:12-13.

Thanks for your cheer. Notice that along with, "This is the will of God, even your sanktification." Another verse on the will of God tels us how, my favorite verse. "Rejoice always, continue in Prayer, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." My favorite verse used to be, "They that wait on the Lord shall renew strengt, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." The new testament verse tels us how to wait on the Lord. We are slow learners most of us.

Yes I had tha in my study, and came across disagrement from Majenta 3 years ago. Interestingly here we are again. Tho I learned since that women are not disciplined the same as men. "Women are saved (sanctified) in child bearing, if they continue in Love." Rearing them they learn to Love, through bearing with their children (suffering) their to grow up.

Hi Magenta, I just mentioned you in the previous responce hope you like my amend. I learned this from the four year old boy who went to heaven and back. He was told he could sit back and watch the final battle because women and children dont have to fight. Tho he is hardly a child now that we are entering the final battle.

As for woman being sanctified and disciplined in childbearing, while I don't disagree with you, is that really all there is for them If it is, then how does God sanctify single woman/widows?

Paul also made mention of single women tending on the Lord without distraction, and he encouraged widows that it was better for them to remain single. As you may kmow its more dificult for men, some battle there for most of us. Im getting Married with God's blessing thus far in the coming year, after I retire from work.

Are you saying that women in the Church do not face the same trials as men? Do they NOT have to resist the same temptations as men? Do they NOT have to stand strong in the Faith just like men?

Who is this 4 year old that went to heaven? If it's the one the Book and Movie were about, then the father has admitted that he coached the boy on what to say. Most was made up.

Thats funy before I oppened your reply, felt Iwas going to face opposing wind. There is alwais a way with the wind, an your a man, I can tel by your lookinog for a fight. Then we progress by taking into the wind. "And we know that all things work for good to them that lobe the Lord." How would his father know that woman and children dont have to fight in the final battle and can sit basck and watch. Now you make me wonder if the final battle is a teological batle about pride of achievment, being right in our own eyes, keeping men from growing up. U may have uncoveted mistery Babilon.

Faith is alive and well among the believers I know. We pray for His return. Men AND women, all in and of the Faith. ALL working for the Kingdom, and ALL fighting the good fight.
