This sounds legalistic and absurd. Seperating ourselves from the world means hiding in a cave according to your logic. You need to read scripture. You make silly arguements that are unbiblical. You suggest to throw away the bible if i reject martin luther?? Who?? CARES! Bro u serious right now. Ur not a christian youre a lutheran correct? What a joke. Seriously. This is a legend is it not? Even so, Christmas trees are not biblical. The only thing the Lord told us to remember is His death by taking the Lord’s supper, as often as we will.

If we choose to remember the Lord’s birth, we should be careful to honor Him in everything. If you think a tree honors Him, put up a tree. If one thinks lights, stockings and mistletoe honors the Lord then by all means.

I love Christmas time...
I just looked after two of my grand girls age 5 and 6 , and they could not wait to sing to me the part they have in their Christmas play , it opened up a door for me to tell them that Jesus is the King , and to why Jesus was born...

Also , I have been given free Christmas cards from a well known site , inside they come with the story of Christ birth , I will give each one of my unsaved children a card , and pray they read the booklet...

I love buying gifts for my grandchildren , I buy them a Christmas eve box with a new cup , dish and plate , I put hot chocolate sachets in there with a snowman marshmallow on a stick , a new pair of PJs and some bath stuff so that they are all ready for the morning...

This Christmas has been and will be a wonderful time of the year for me , I have been walking with our LORD for just four years , and Christmas gives me a perfect time to speak of the wonderful good news that Jesus is the Savior of the world...

Happy Christmas to you all , my brothers & sisters in Christ...

How do you come to this conclusion biblically?
You’re not going to be able to ‘proof’ it via the Bible; both birth narratives state Bethlehem, but they kind of have to when you think about it – the Messiah was prophesied to be born in Bethlehem; not somewhere else.

I was going to write a much longer post (and still may at some point), but to sort of summarize it: we have four gospels that all agree that Jesus was from Nazareth (‘Jesus of Nazareth’ – typically a place name moniker refers to where one was born, not where one currently lives).

In Mark and John, he’s just ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ (i.e. presumed to have been born there). Only two accounts offer a birth narrative. Both accounts place the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, but the stories are completely different, are incompatible in the date of when it happened, and each contains historically problematic events (particularly the census). One account (Luke’s) goes out of its way to explain how Jesus could conveniently be born elsewhere in order to fit a prior prophecy. The other (Matthew’s) skirts around the problem by having Joseph and Mary originate in Bethlehem (but then needs to come up with a reason for them to end up in Nazareth).

To me, the simplest and most likely explanation seems to be that he was in fact, as his moniker suggests, born in Nazareth.

The bottom line however, at least from a Biblical standpoint, is that the Jewish expectations for the Messiah to be born in Bethlehem were fulfilled. From a more historical standpoint however, Bethlehem seems, well… rather unlikely.

It was prophesied that the birth would be in Bethlehem.

Matthew 2
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Yes it is. The worship of Sol Invictus.

Roman Emperor Aurelian made this date on the 25th December 274 AD as a cult along with other Roman cults. There may have been some influence as a result of the Persian cult of Mithra.

If memory serves me it was Constantine who would have been brought up under the above cults, in 336 declared it date to celebrate Christmas.

Not to celebrate pagan rituals/holidays but replace it with Jesus and his birth.

I have read that the early church observed December as early as 125 AD as the birth of Jesus.
This was as a result of the Romans celebrating Saturnus (harvest god and Mithra)

Which as said above Aurelian commanded in 274 AD concerning Mithra.

There is other references that the early church started celebrating Christmas in 204 AD

At the end of the day we all know Jesus was not born in December?
At the end of the day does it matter if we do celebrate Christmas in December?
If we knew the exact date would we celebrate it?
There is lot out there that would link Easter to cults as well.

Celebrating Christmas in rememerance of our saviour coming in the flesh with the purpose to reconcile us to the Father, is that wrong?

Is it wrong to give gifts, eat a meal and rejoice and be thankful to him?

I think not.

So I will celebrate it because it's not celebrating a cult.

Jesus was not born on December the 25th.. So i do not celebrate the Birth of Jesus on that day.

But do i Exchange gifts on December the 35th.. Yep
Do i sit down and enjoy the company of my extended family and have a great lunch.. Yep

Giving gifts is a good thing and having a good meal is a good thing if we give thanks to the LORD for it..

So i have no problems enjoying the day because i do not celebrate it as the day of my LORD's birth..
December 35th?

Can someone please provide scripture that mentions "christmas" or what that even means? Its clearly a man made tradition and its not Godly.
So according to you the Three Wise Men celebrating the birth of Christ by visiting Him in the manger and offering gifts was not godly.

What does that have to do with "christmas"? The three wise men were sorcerers and astrologers and gentiles who more than likely followed other gods.. so you see this as the narrative for christmas? Well that would be a pagan way of celebrating his birth. The three wise men were more likely pagan.
