Well hey, that's great news about you giving yourself to the Lord! Always, always, always great to read when The Lord moves someone's heart to reach out to Him and gives their life to him truly so thanks for sharing that!

May God Bless you with His Peace, Love, Mercy, Grace, Wisdom and Comfort. As well as many Good Christian Friends (either here or in life, or even better both) to help you with your Journey. Just remember, people will each have their own opinions of things. Never for get to check the "Owners Manual" (The Bible) and with He who Supplied the Wisdom and Truth to be put in it.
