I am really struggling regarding a legal issue. Without going into a long story, I was wrongfully charged by a previous employer for theft. It was actually the owners wife and thankfully, the charges were all dropped and the case closed. The owner and wife are NOT Christians and not good people at all. For 6 months, they slandered my name. They called my new job and also had me arrested at my new job. Now I am struggling with the option to sue the company for defamation and extreme harassment. Is it unchristian to sue them for everything I went through???

No!
It was clearly un-Christian for them to put you through that. And since they're not Christians, as you said, you know them by their fruits also. All of it rotten.
Yes, if you can prove your case sue them. Because, if you walk away having suffered the embarrassment and their slandering your name with false charges they will suffer no consequence after they made you to suffer a great many. And by the way, filing a false police report is a crime in itself, and you may wish to look into that as well as a charge against whomever reported you falsely to the police.
If you file and win a judgment it may forewarn others as to what this couple is like.
Does your local newspaper have a law docket section where they report the results of civil suits? If so, if you win your case, this couple will be made subject to public scrutiny when the court decision is published. That goes a long way to inform and forewarn people about them.

God be with you.

First of all why would you expect them to be Christ like when they don't know him?
Second thing if they aren't good people why were you working for them? Have you learned anything from this??

To be wrongfully accused goes with the territory, seems that God provided another job for you as a means of escape.

Which is better? To trust the Lord in the path you should go and not look back...or to possibly be compensated for your troubles and possibly redeemed by the laws of the land?.........you decide.

I would give it to the Lord and ask him for what his direction would be concerning it. He has a wonderful way of taking water and making into wine, taking what you have been through and turning it around. Give him the anger, hurt and injustice and ask him to remove it from you and wait for his further instruction. I assume he will tell you let it go and he will deal with the people but I am sure he won't just leave it as that. I believe he will give you a better job with better pay and working with better people. Let him do it but first release the situation to him through prayer and then just wait. If it takes a while to turn around, don't lose heart. His timing cannot be understood.

This isn't always true. I am looking for another place to rent and was nearly conned by a christian person who teaches Sunday School.

We are taught by God not to sue our brethren and sisters in Christ, but are also told by God to obey those that have rule over us, if their law does not conflict with God's law, in which, if your accusers are not children of God, then God would not frown upon you for bringing a law suit against them.

Nearly conned seems like someone was looking out for you😉. May the Lord guide you in your search for another rental

If this Sunday teacher was at fault then you know we are to tell them, if they will not hear you bring a witness, if they are still deaf to your rebuke ask God to step in and walk away.

I wonder... what good would come out of this suit?

Would it help anyone see the love of Christ? Would it lead anyone closer to God? Will it protect you from future abuse? Could it expose you to more abuse? Would it foster hate? Would it lead your previous employers to feel justified in their abuses?

In my mind, these are some of the key questions that should be answered with prayer before taking action. Jesus suffered so much worse slander and bore it. I certainly couldn't take such abuse, but He did show us that the Love we are called to have can suffer injustice without retaliating.

Personally I don't see much good that could come out of filing suit and it it seems to stand in opposition to the example provided by Jesus when he was tortured, slandered and killed.

Take them for what they’re worth. Not only do you deserve compensation but you’ll be protecting countless other potential would-be victims in the future.

The love for Money is the root to all evil . DON'T let people talk into maybe what you don't think is really right . And I'm not saying for you to go ether way BUT the one that GOD would have you GO . But I do fill that would better not in GODs eyes . 1 Corinthians 4:12 And labour , working with our one hands; being REVILED, we bless ; being persecuted we suffer it . 1 Peter 2:23 Talk about JESUS here Who when He was reviled , HE reviled not again; when he suffered , HE threatened not; But committedhimself to HIM that judgeth righteously ; GOD BLESS AS HE SEES FIT .
