so 6164 pages of posts, and all it come to down is the reason for the resurrection, to be forgiven for all past and future sins, on the proviso that you repent and distance yourself from the world and its desires. So, if you go to church Sunday, then go to Las Vegas to gamble, watch pole dancers, and have a night with a prostitute, then woe betide you. Its one or the other, its Jesus and his way, or its the worlds way, you cant have both. And yes, preventing sin is a lifelong process, do it wilfully and take the resurrection for granted, then see you in the other place no one wants to visit.

How can anyone disagree with this?
Because fools will be fools.......like Satan said in the garden....Ye shall NOT surely die..........these salvation losers and self maintainers absolutely cannot grasp and or accept that JESUS DOES IT ALL by our simplistic act of faith......and they will pay when God laughs in the day of their judgement!

Why are you having a hard time understanding that God "imputes" righteousness? (Romans 4:6) The word "impute" simply means to charge or put to one's account. Other translations say "credits" or "reckons." It's not painful and is the only way in the eyes of God that we will be seen as righteous. Apart from the righteousness of God in Him, we remain clothed in our own filthy rags of righteousness/our sins remain.

What's painful was for Jesus to become sin for us on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that WE might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Look at the post above this one.....a prime example of a complete lack of understanding and religious poppycock because he cannot honestly address the word of God......He cannot grasp that Jesus took ALL of our Sin and then IMPUTED HIS righteousness to our ACCOUNT because of GRACE and by FAITH.....a child can understand this concept and truth!

The 'Beating a Dead-horse Forum'.
Not really.....this thread has covered, salvation, justification, ongoing sanctification, and thousands of scriptures and scriptural truths....MANY have opened their eyes and come online with the truth of SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH AND EYERNALLY GIVEN....it has also exposed the religiously inept blather of people like PS.....and the absolute truth....when I made this threa I prayed to God that he would make it the longest thread in CC history and keep it forefront to defend his truth......ONE EITHER stands with GOD AND THE TRUTH or they oppose it......this is a spiritual war with eternal consequence!

Both.

Jesus said

Mark 9:23
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

So Jesus is saying "If"

The man replies I do believe but there seems to be can overcome the "If"

So there is a nagging doubt.
Let's not forget that the boy was possessed from childhood.

So in a sense the father is saying I believe but part of me is struggling with it. Please help me. You say if and I do if, help me change from if to it's true.

It's not dissimilar to what we experience in our walk.

Simple example.

Jesus said that God loves us as much as he loves Jesus.

That is true but how many Christians believe that?
My experience is not many.

So the question asked is "Jesus if that's true then please help me to accept this truth"

It's accepting the truth. Replacing the "If" of it might true with the reality that it is.

That is why the father said "I need help to overcome the unbelief that I'm struggling with"
Just think about how IF is used by those that beleieve in a losable salvation......IF WE BLAH BLAH BLAH

The point is this, I came to the realization after reading @dcontroversal post that the people beating a dead horse are those that keep stating salvation is conditional. ... because they are wrong.

However, I am quite sure that is not who you had in mind since you ascribe to the NOSAS dogma... we do not beat a dead horse we defend the correct and true Gospel of salvation. And that really is not a laughing matter.

Believe me I am working on being less impulsive in my responses and reactions.

And no red X

There is so much wrong here .. not sure even where to start.

But one thing for sure the NOSAS crowd tend to be fixated on sexual sins, always bring up stuff of that nature.

A very faulty analogy between the Gospel and the court system.
Amen....the court (law) deems everyone guilty, the LAWYER (JESUS) PAYS OUR DEBT to the court, imputes the righteousness required by the law to us by his blood dia faith and then stands to mediate any and all breaches of the law..........eternally JUSTIFIED!!!

2 Corinthians 2:15-17
For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one, we are an odor of death and demise; to the other, a fragrance that brings life. And who is qualified for such a task?

17For we are not like so many others, who peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as men sent from God.

Keep fighting the good fight brother.
