I was quite surprised to say the least while watching the Super Bowl Half-Time Show. The provocative array that was put on display was highly sexually suggestive.

I wasn’t sure if I was watching art or a cavorting session. Nevertheless it was highly inappropriate given the amount of children watching.

In another OP topic I had alluded to the notion that sex and sexualization has become the new religion in the U.S.
This would in a sense confirm that my assertion was some what correct.

I have to wonder if God is just about done with our country. Is His hand turning against us for continued transgressions? Godlessness, lust, greed, murder, idolatry, pride. I believe that if God didn’t spare the Israelites of such things, He won’t spare us. I’m I coming to a wrong conclusion?

You know I like Toby mac some...but at times I have gotten rid of his stuff...God worked a miricale using one of his CDs once for me....but all the look and culture he is in does not surprise me he lost his son to drugs...and it was connected to his culture and the sex of the Super Bowl...and America...its the rapper stuff... God loves Toby Mac....but I need to help him slow down...but he might not listen...those eyes of his...and all that fast moving rapper stuff cost him a son...and we are losing our children...now we have lost the boys and men to the whores at Super Bowl and later porn and sexual sin...but the drugs and booze all go with it...thst slick sick rock star stuff and the church is in it...like skillet etc...the key is to read God's Word lots and cut the world out...and we are learning from TV and not our Bible as Christians and God wants to vomit most out now...the younger children can make sense till they get to teenagers and like me and many others it all goes south and most don't come back from it...i got a chance at 27 to accept the Lord when I heard the real Truth for the first time...now I still struggle when females walk by all decked out...and im tired of it...and so are others...but when you turn your head only to see another female wearing less than then other...so given God has children here...we are in limbo and what he is going to do is help those that work like this tread states....we fight against it...unplug the set(TV)..i did 25 years ago...and I lost many people over not watching TV...but God rewarded me with HIMSELF...AND HIS PRESENCE AND SALVATION AND AND LOL

I do like some of TobyMac’s music, but I do have to agree with you that his persona is indicative of the Hip-Hop lifestyle. Of course I cannot see the mans heart, but all of the flashiness seems to not be of a truly humble individual. I didn’t know that his son had died of an OD.

how'd ya get from the raw female sexuality (well what did anyone expect from the 2 manufacturers of lust and whoredom otherwise known as Shakira and Jaylo) to Toby Mac?

seems this would be a far better discussion in family forum or misc than the BDF

actually, I'm not sure why one needs to discuss this at all unless they want to smack women around again

maybe y'all should not have been watching the halftime show...unless you are confessing?

I didn't see the show and it was too much for me lol...my point was Toby Mac is doing something similar that those two whores are doing...he wants to be super cool...it sells with the sex of the women and Christian women are doing plenty of the stuff too in churches
Since divorce among Christians is just as high...it would reason we are greatly affected by the whoredom of the USA too

I was surprised to see this commercial during the Super Bowl broadcast. What a contrast to the other ungodly content! It was surely light in the midst of extreme darkness.

The Super Bowl itself is for the world and for the worldly -- not for Christians. Certainly not for children.

While Franklin Graham had some words of criticism for the soft porn on display (called it sexual exploitation even though the performers choose to be exploited), Christians should have simply ignored the whole idea about hedonistic entertainment on Sundays. The gods of today are the sports idols.

It certainly was an interesting commercial. When it first began, I wasn’t quite sure where it’s was going

and see how immune the world becomes? They see so much ungodly behaviour, even so called christians consider it normal. Then when someone walks naked to there letterbox early in the morning, the police are called. The hypocrisy is astounding. Goes to show how much influence the porn industry has on western culture now.

well it's normal for the temple prostitutes in biblical times

what am I saying?

nothing new under the sun and obviously it was eastern culture loooong before it hit the rocky shores of the northeast Atlantic

it's in the hearts of unsaved people and even many who call themselves Christian

It was also a form of pridefulness and vanity. Two middle-aged women trying to retain there youthfulness via artificial means.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

I don’t see issue with Christians watching a football game for entertainment. Once it goes beyond that, there could a problem.

"Are there not 'references' in the Bible that tell of these 'things' that would come 'to be'.
And, there would come to be a day of 'reckoning', the likes of which never before witnessed.
From this 'side of the glass', ....it is appalling the change that has come about in my life time.
I believe a major contributing factor is the collapse of family values due to 'growing pains',
so ably put forth within God's 'word'. And, the worst yet to come!...This too, I believe 'to be'."

Since these football games are on Sunday -- the Lord's Day -- that should be reason enough for Christians to shun them on that day.

The Lord's Day has been regarded as the Christian Sabbath for a long time. And what applied to the Sabbath applies to the Lord's Day: And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made... Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy (Gen 2:3; Exod 20:8)

I already had an OP thread about the Sabbath. Still, I don’t take issue with Christians watching football.

I agree! The Superbowl is intended as Family-TV with so many wonderful and inspirational story-lines. I too was taken a bit back especially by JLo's performance... I so confess that I thought Shakira's performance and costume selection were not as 'riske' as J-Lo's... J-Lo's choice of a thong and pole-dancing on this stage IMHO was in poor taste... and for her to bring her daughter into the show only adds to the confusion of what's appropriate for the younger generation...

The evidence at the desensitization of our society upon this sort of thing is evident in the seeming vote of acceptance (double-standard) even from female journalists and the Latin community as opposed to the recent push-back to the Peloton Commerical as being sexist (husband gave fit-fully-clothed wife a stationary bike for X-mas).

This desensitization trend to 'sex' and 'sex-sells' is only growing in our societal spiritual battlefield...

When a nation dia law accepts, promotes and legalises homosexuality, the murder of babies and the suppression of the truth we are about done.......Homosexuality is the final straw (Romans) and NOW that we are meddling with Jerusalem........it is not looking good......I personally believe the initial wake up slap from God was 9-11 and instead of changing course we set our faces like flint......and personally I do believe the U.S. will be destroyed under the banner of the Prodigy of Babylon (Jeremiah 50-51) and in my view....time is short.....I also believe a 2nd civil war will be in full swing when the Nation is destroyed by a coalition of Russia, Iran and Turkey.............

Leader against leader and violence in the land

NO....you are not coming to a wrong conclusion in my view
