Are any of you collectors of older tv shows? The other day I bought two seasons of an old show I grew up with in the 90s and my mom and I had good time watching it. Nostalgia is rather potent.

I don't collect older tv shows or sitcoms but i do wish they would bring back shows that had good wholesome life lessons at the end of them. Most of the recent ones i have seen are kind of empty in wholesome content.

I was flipping channels yesterday and came across an episode of 'I Dream Of Genie'. That show is still funny and cute!

Which ones did you watch? My sisters and I LOVE watching shows and movies that we grew up with. We were recently talking about 3 Ninjas, Free Willy and Monkey Trouble. :)

I've binge-watched What's My Line, The Saint, the Columbo movies, Perry Mason, The Munsters, The Addams Family, McMillian & Wife, Diagnosis Murder and on and on and on:) My favorite is watching The Tonight Show w/Johnny Carson who was genuinely funny.

Are you afraid of the Dark season 3 and 4. I have to say most are good fun but some go a tad too far scare wise 😳 lol. My favorite ones are the ones with a moral lesson.

You youngsters don't even know of old shows. How about Amos & Andy, bet you never heard of that. How about Life of Riley, they were all B&W and out on the very first TVs. How about Topper, it is about drinking and smoking ghosts haunting a businessman. Those are old! 2rolleyes.gif

I loved Are You Afraid Of The Dark. Looking back, it was indeed pretty scary for a kids show. But it was still a great show to grow up on and reminisce about.

I don't own any shows on DVD, but I definitely know about the nostalgia you mention. Watching old school Nickelodeon and old school Cartoon Network....those were the good old days. Good memories to have for sure. :)

Some shows do bring on nostalgia. I do collect some shows so I can re-watch whenever and watch some with my dad or brother. Don’t really watch the new shows anymore (a few eps of maybe 2 series most recently, one of which ended already, that I can think of and that was last year so nothing currently). Of the ones mentioned so far, I used to watch I Dream of Jeannie, Friends, Family Matters, Full House, Fresh Prince, Goosebumps (that used to be my favorite book series in elementary and I did watch some eps). Can’t remember if I saw Are You Afraid of the Dark or not but the title sounds familiar so probably.

I never had cable tv, so I only saw the Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network shows when we went on vacation at my relatives’ houses. I used to love The Powerpuff Girls. Most of my cartoons were on Saturday mornings and the most memorable apart from Winnie the Pooh and Animaniacs I think was Recess. I loved Recess. A little younger and I remember looking forward to Arthur. Some non-cartoon nostalgic shows I used to watch include Sister Sister, Boy Meets World, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, Malcolm in the Middle, and The Nanny. I’m sure there are a ton more, but those are some that come to mind.

I also grew up in the 90s, but I also like discovering new “old” shows. Some of my favorite ones include Bonanza, The Big Valley, The Partridge Family, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (the show, which is very different from the movie), Little House on the Praire, Charles in Charge, and the 1980s MacGyver (I will never watch the new one, that is not the true MacGyver lol).

I didn't get into older shows till I was older. I'm a big Goosebumps fan :) it inspires my writing and artwork and is the reason why read so much. I didn't like reading until I started reading them.

Yes. I always used to change the channel when Little House on the Prairie was on. The Andy Griffith show didn’t interest me when I was younger either. I also used to change the channel for Who’s the Boss, but I “discovered” that one recently and I’m looking forward to watching. Goosebumps was my favorite book series before I found Fear Street (I read Animorphs as well so I watched that show too, did you?). I tried Nancy Drew and Choose Your Own Adventure because my friends were into those but I didn’t like them. And at the time I thought Harry Potter seemed too long. I only started the series after my 6th grade teacher read us a chapter and I liked it so went to check it out. I expanded what I read later, but initially it was mostly Goosebumps.
