SEEING IS......

The old saying "seeing is believing" is one we all know I suspect. But, when it comes to the Gospel, is that really true?

John 17:20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

John 20:29) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Romans, Chapter 10:

8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Sometimes we have to believe BEFORE we can see.........well, IMO anyhoo

Ah, there was this ad abt seeing to believe this brand of ref long ago. At the time, I knew there was something not right w/ the statement. With faith, it's the other way round-- we see because we believe=)!

11COR. 5:7.
(For we walk by Faith, not by sight
JOHN 20:29.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed:
blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

on the contrary note, many DID SEE MIRACLES, SIGNS and WONDERS, and yet, did NOT believe -
all the 'nation of Israel HEARD THE VOICE of GOD, yet many went astray -
and so, we must not make an assumption or conclusion about 'seeing or hearing',
only God can open the eyes and the ears, and even then we have a choice...
ISA. 6:10.
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes;
lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart,
and convert, and be healed.
11TIM. 4:4.
And they shall turn away their ears from the Truth, and shall be turned unto 'fables'.
HEB. 4:2.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but The Word preached did not profit them,
not being mixed with Faith in them that heard it.

no one would 'willing turn away' from Spiritual manifestations, this could ONLY HAPPEN,
IF they 'did NOT have FAITH', 'and Faith is the gift of God'...
