Although I do not care for real martial arts I do not deny I get a kick (sorry pun) out of video game and anime Martial arts. My question is can Christians practice it (no I have no interest in doing so just a general question) Opinions?

I don’t believe you can separate the spiritual elements from martial arts, yoga, and the like. Some feel otherwise. And I don’t entertain references to the practice either. Because it diminishes your conviction and after awhile its not so bad.

My familiarity with Buddhist and Hindu teachings compel me to abstain and encourage my loved ones to follow suit. The source they draw upon in the movements and practice isn’t the Most High. You expose yourself to demonic elements.

I’ve studied and practiced many religions. Westernizing Eastern teachings doesn’t alter the root. Satan always gives the appearance of harmlessness until you’re hooked. Once you’re stuck you learn the truth.

Martial arts' main purpose is self-defense against an attacker, like if someone comes at you with a knife or someone wants to beat you up, etc..

As I said a fictional setting is my only preference not realistic and not all martial arts are Buddhist or Hinduist places all over the world have there own self defense. The french have a form of boxing called Savate theres a Brazilian martial arts called Capoaira that is disguised as dance and set to music.

So I respectfully disagree but I understand where your coming from. You have to be careful of pretty much everything.

Btw I also stay from anime and games with a heavy and Buddihts influences as they make me on edge as well. I think anime could benefit from some Christianization
