Look out at what you speak!!!

  • “In the days of her affliction and her wandering Jerusalem remembered all her desirable things from previous days; when her people fell into the hand of the foe; and there is no ally for her. The foes saw her; they laughed at her annihilation.” (Lamentations 1.7).

When the enemies (for example, Philistines, Amonites, Amorites, Moabites, Edomites, Amalekites, etc.) saw Jerusalem’s havoc, they laugh at it. And I ask to you: where are they now? All of them was annihilated.

Moses was turned away from entering in the promised land because he spoke rashly with his lips (Psalms 106.33).

When Jesus said that by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned, He wasn’t kidding (Matthew 12.37). So:

  • “If you have done foolishly in lifting yourself up, or if you have thought evil, lay your hand on your mouth.” (Proverbs 30.32);
  • “I said, I will take heed to my ways so that I do not sin with my tongue; I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked are before me.” (Psalms 39.1).

The most difficult isn’t enthrall one person, but to keep in touch and get on with him for all our life. In order to build a big edifice, you need years for it, but in a few seconds you can topple it. Alike, you can lay your friendship (or marriage) to waste that you work hard for years with a simple bad word. Remember that the tongue has power of fire (James 3.5).

And this has to do with our salvation too:

  • “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold. But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe.” (Matthew 24.12,13).

That is to say, only will be saved those who hold back from doing evil and persevere to the end seeking out Jesus and His will. So, if you pine for having a good day and want to be saved, keep in mind that what contaminate us is what comes out from our mouth:

  • “And He said, That which comes out of the man is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things pass out from inside and defile the man.” (Mark 7.20-23).
