Well, let me ask you..are you charismatic/Pentecostal/Word of Faith?

Do you belong to a solid, bible-teaching church, or some liberal mushy church?

I could see either being offended by my words.

I'm Pentecostal, what of it?!

Perhaps I do both.

In the last 3 years I have spoken to over 300 people about Christ. I was in jail ministry up until the last six months or so. I was driven out by Pentecostals, charismatics and Word of Faith people. They did not make it easy because they don't want their teachings challenged. They want seekers to view them as the Christian equivalent of the witch doctor who can solve all their problems by casting out their demons and removing their generational curses.

Anyways you may also find I am not entertained by women trying to correct me, especially if they are younger than me. That may work in the female-dominated charismatic world, but not with me.

They want seekers to view them as the Christian equivalent of the witch doctor who can solve all their problems by casting out their demons and removing their generational curses.
Mainstream Pentecostals do not believe nor teach generational curses. Offshoots like WOF may and other no name Pentecostals.

I think you should get your mind off prosperity gospel people and put your mind on JESUS. Alot of your threads constantly bag them. Perhaps you should spend that time learning about Jesus. What others believe is none of your business and telling them they are WRONG is not going to change their minds.
:claps angrily:
This should probably be a sticky above BDF... cross out prosperity gospel people and put a variable "X" because anything goes really... this subforum is a place of strife and destruction far from its intended purpose, one almost never sees study and learning here, and rarely a decent conversation.

KJV Only guys didn't like it because I gave away ESV Bibles. In fact, I donated a lot of them to the library and guards were not allowed
to give them to prisoners.

Prophecy nuts didn't like it because I challenged their views.

Free-willers didn't like it because I believe God is sovereign in salvation.

Charismatics didn't like it because I disagreed with their teachings about generational curses, God talking to them audibly, weird dreams and prophecies, etcetera.

I didn't go seeking to correct them, but prisoners would ask me what I thought about some point of teaching coming from them, and I would answer plainly.

Ultimately, though, I quit because of an issue with Christian books related to the corrections officers. However, I believe behind the scenes the charismatic chaplain was restricting my activity due to doctrinal disagreements.

Which is fine with me..I'm not going to teach charismatic stuff or fail to give prisoners proper answers.

I didn't have much respect for the chaplain anyways..he ran a business on the side that involved driving people long distances. One lady asked if she could work for him, and he told her that she would have to be ok with falsifying reports when she drove more than a certain distance per day, as it was required sometimes to get people to their destinations without an overnight stay. I don't know about him, but as a Christian I consider lying to be immoral, and to ask others to do it is immoral, too.
Your heart is so full of unforgiveness.
Now I know the root of that vile spirit operating in you.

You are trying to be a christian harboring unforgiveness.

You obtained a wounded spirit from your falling out with another ministry.

You walked in that mode with a wounded spirit. It festered into a monster of relentless attacking.
You need to get free sir.
You will eventually be consumed by it.

I just do not get what you guys think Is so bad about calling out false teaching when it is seem.

I was told , on here, multiple times from different people that " you who go to church on sun. are worshiping the sun god nimrod".
so, when you see non-sense like that, do you just go " oh , that is interesting " , and move on. or do you call it out.

if the o.p , experienced what he said he did ( which, based on the many " Christians " that believe in junk like that}, I think he did, then he was right.

and should not be criticized for calling it out. he did the right thing.

You don't pitch in to every Pentecostal/ Charismatic/WOF person. Can anyone here be a grown up? I have a friend who is a WOF preacher. I don't agree with everything he teaches, but he is a wonderful Christian. He has prayed my family through so many things. We have ministered together and he has a great heart for God. He has a missionary outreach to Russia and has traveled there over the years ministering to the poor and the children. How many here would be willing to do that?Over the years we have talked and many of the things he was hardcore WOF on has changed. He's now in his twilight years and soon to be ready to go home to be with his dear wife. And when he does I have no doubt that God will say "well done my good and faithful servant". The problem with the vast majority of people here is they have never gone out past their own church door, never been challenged, never fellowshipped with other denominations. An old Christian singer that many here might know said "the older I get the more people I'm letting into heaven". Well said!! Won't many here who are so dogmatic and full of hate for their Christian brothers/sisters ( not you) be surprised when they have not won a crown of life, as they love playing the victim, and it's passed to someone of another denomination they hate. smh So childish.

you and I get along just fine about most things, I know you are a Pentecostal, have known for a long time.
what the o.p. and myself are saying is that there are SOME extreme offshoots that have those beliefs.

and that is what should be stood against.

again " those who go to church on sun. are worshiping the sun god", stuff that needs to be stood against.

Well that is a shame, people are always going to be disappointing. What do you think God wants you to do now that you are no longer in prison ministry?
Some other ministry at the right time.

I think I will try to stick to Reformed ministries, though. I don't want to get involved with a mixed ministry.

I'm Pentecostal, what of it?!
Was I talking to you?

Obviously if someone is charismatic, they will bristle when a subpoint of their accepted theology is discussed in an unfavorable light.

By the way, on this thread I was discussing prosperity gospel and Christian Science people mainly.

And, if someone believes that they aren't really sick with Corona virus unless they confess it, they are total loons...or if they think they will get it just because they negatively confess it, they are loons..and if they think they won't get it just because they positively confess it, they are loons.

My understanding is that the vast majority of Pentecostals or charismatics don't believe this, so if you don't believe it, then you needn't be offended.

I am pinpointing my criticism on this point to nuts who infect the public due to their religious beliefs in relation to positive and negative confession of prosperity gospel nuts.

Correct. I am unteachable by charismatics or Pentecostals, because they don't have credibility with me.

I'm glad Pentecostals don't teach generational curses, however my Pentecostal grandmother claimed that her grandson was born with cerebral palsy due to my aunt's remarriage. She claimed to speak for God when prophesying it. This is the type of delusion many charismatic people have. I would never say something like that, knowing the devastation it could bring on others in terms of guilt.

At the same time, my aunt sinned by remarrying. I'm not sure why a charismatic would have scruples about that, though, since so many of their pastors, let alone members, leave their wives and marry others, and retain their pastorship.

Prosperity gospel people hold onto the concept of positive confession. If they are consistent with their theology, they will not acknowledge being sick. To acknowledge sickness is to bring upon themselves sickness, in their theology.
What does this have to do with Walmart? And what if Walmart's temperature sensors were manufactured in China, and were made deliberately defective, so that the Western *barbarians* would be fooled? Many countries have now discovered that China is deliberately sending them defective medical products and equipment, and they are outraged.

Frankly, this OP makes no sense. While the Prosperity Gospel and Christian Science are false, the idea of maintaining a positive attitude in the face of difficulties is sound. Indeed the apostle Paul urges Christians to focus on that which is positive.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Phil 4:8)

Exactly the same as you would react if someone tore down your theology.

Loon, is that a Biblical definition or ... I don't agree with their POV but slandering people isn't going to get you close to seeing your POV. How about using a little grace and love?

Well, thanks for saying that, but I'm not offended. I'm correcting a false belief, one of several, that people have about Pentecostalism. I do not believe that, just for the record.

I am pinpointing my criticism on this point to nuts who infect the public due to their religious beliefs in relation to positive and negative confession of prosperity gospel nuts.
Again you're not going to win any friends or change hearts with that attitude. If you want to be in ministry you're going to have to learn to minister to all people, not just the ones that agree with your POV.

Correct. I am unteachable by charismatics or Pentecostals, because they don't have credibility with me.
Incorrect, I wasn't talking about that. I was talking in general. You don't seem like a person who would listen to any differing POV from your own. For example, I ministered in Baptist, Wesleyan, United/ Anglican, Catholic and various Pentecostal/ WOF/Charismatic plus more, churches. We didn't preach Pentecostalism, in all those places we preached Christ and how to be saved. Could you do that?!

I'm glad Pentecostals don't teach generational curses, however my Pentecostal grandmother claimed that her grandson was born with cerebral palsy due to my aunt's remarriage. A pity, she didn't learn that from Pentecostalism unless it was an offshoot. Mainstream Pentecostalism wouldn't teach that. Possibly it was just her opinion? And if so, she should have kept it to herself.

At the same time, my aunt sinned by remarrying. I'm not sure why a charismatic would have scruples about that, though, since so many of their pastors, let alone members, leave their wives and marry others, and retain their pastorship.
So as I mentioned I traveled in just about every denomination and pastors of all of those denominations had been re- married. No church has an angle on marriage issues and problems, sad to say. So let's not act like one church is more full of "sinners" than another.

once again, we plainly see where identifying with names that are 'un-biblical' in the world, cause 'great division' -
and so, what is the 'lesson to be learned here'???
1COR. 1:10.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by The Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the 'same thing',
and that there be 'no divisions among you'; but that you be 'perfectly joined together
in the same mind and in the same judgment'.

My conviction is that wishy-washy people do not properly convey their disagreement with faulty theology. If you don't believe that, fine. If you wish to employ wishy-washy explanations, feel free to do so.

I am not dominated by females and their views. I think females have resulted in deterioration of Christianity, because they are susceptible to deception, just as their mother Eve was.

Paul holds this view himself, and expresses it in 1 Tim 2:14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

Women in the charismatic world rule the roost. I totally reject this type of equality. I believe in complementarianism, and not egalitarianism.

In this context, I suppose the site promotes egalitarianism. I totally reject it.

Because it is not biblical, and I will not be drug into error by feminine weaknesses to temptation.

At the same time, I will acknowledge that many Christian sisters are under proper submission to male leadership, so my issue is not with them.
